A problem with the guy i've had as my nomad is the creepers. They spawn, and since I live on top of temporary trees, they stay underneath where they have epic camouflage.
"Oooh, it's morning already, huh? Let's get down there."
Now, all you're missing is a giant mob collector at the bottom.
Can you imagine it? Instead of a sand floor, it'll be a checkerboard floor with every other tile being ahole. And you'll have a whole island collecting gunpowder for you.
Just bought minecraft - and boy, is it everything i've always wanted. Lego and lava together. Mmm.
Well, i'm having a slight problem. My old ATI card's overheated during the summer, and glitches when I play snowy terrain, due to the snowflakes. I am perfectly fine when underground, or in normal mode, but once I get aboveground, 5 seconds later, Boom.
Is it possible to use an editor of some sort to turn an icy map into a normal map? I've made some progress on this icy map, and I would hate to lose it all.

Just, y'know, saying,

Oh. THAT explains the feathers I found next to the sign the other day. I was wondering.

Underneath 12 tons of water.
Behold, the biosphere!
No cheats, but a lot of pigs were harmed in the process. That's my old cobblestone generator, by the way.

That is, the main minecart turns into the booster, which forces a corner into the booster minecart, starting the whole thing.
EDIT:
I've constructed a basic system not unlike the OP's system, but with a button at the destination as well. Two creepers came along and .. y'know.
Currently reconstructing the boosters.

Would that change everything to a normal map - etc, cacti and no ice, or would it be a snow map in every sense of the word but the snow animation?
