Well, a lot of what you asked for is hardcoded(Meaning it would need a large re-write to implement) like armor protection or time consuming to implement(Like sigil blacklist and ritual ranges). Tipically mods that offer suport for that are written from the ground up with that in mind.
Flow chart? Not that I know of. I'll start writing one now...
Edit: Alright, flowchart is done. Should give you a basic idea of tech tree progress.
As you can see, a huge expansion at T4. This to due to the fact that many old things are upgraded at T4 to have new uses.
I have done a Google Search and search on this thread for a Flowchart specific to this mod that shows how you gain access to new items from this mod. Is there such a thing, possibly one in creation, or am I going to need to make one myself? I did see a list of new blocks and items on the main site, and am happy to create one over time if there isn't anyone else working on it.

Was there ever a solution to this? I would like to give Mojang money, but I can't get the new account set up for my wife. What do we need to do to get a valid verification email? We have one that was sent, but the link just logs us into the Mojang account, but does nothing to verify.

@Exhibit A:
the hunger bar made the game easier? shoot I got so sick of dying from not having food. I didn't want to kill the animals because they don't respawn anymore.. so I had to live off zombie flesh for a while when I first started a world recently.
I finally said screw breeding and just eat bread. .-.
I personally liked the generic basic system before when you had to go hunt your food rather than have massive farms, but it healed instantly.
Not disagreeing entirely, but I I feel in this case that it starts off harder with the hunger system and maybe gets easier after you get established.
@Exhibit C:
Why is it bad for others to get a chance to play the game differently than how you prefer?
Believe it or not, not everyone likes going in caves, even in survival mode.
No one is making you trade. You'll still be able to go dig for diamonds.
I'm personally more interested in the chainmail armor and emerald blocks. I also like the idea of NPCs being useful and just having something more in the game like this.
@Exhibit D:
Because we couldn't already do this stuff through servers and mods?
I don't see why it's bad to give an option.. same goes for exhibit C.
Yes. OPTION.
Should I make it a bigger font size?
I agree that these changes are great! I personally enjoy having the ability to trade for gear. I still find it difficult to find villages in most seeds without the use of ADMIST. So when I find one, and I can get wheat and other items it just makes the game more interactive and entertaining.
I agree with the above post.
Personally I enjoy playing with a "City Challenge" feel. Though I don't see this being implemented anytime soon, if ever. If you find the game boring, play on hard mode and try some of the challenges put out there. Also use time limits, or your die.
I can understand the desire for a harder game mode, though I would find mods to make it so. If there were "Peaceful/Easy/Normal/Challenging/Hard/PERMADEATH" modes added on later, that may be interesting. Bringing less trading options and no blast blocking to the harder modes could be implemented and might in the future. Though for new players, the game is a challenge enough
...though I would like to see the challenge of more bosses/dungeons as with Chocolates Mod
You don't have to do any of this stuff. Quit bitching. If you don't want the game to be easy then don't do these things. If others do, then that's their business. NOT YOURS.
Furthermore, just having things like commands for spawning in the game isn't actually changing the games difficulty. It's purely an extra and using them will make it easier, but otherwise nothings changing.

I will try again and then get the full log if it doesn't work again with 1198 & Java 7

This is an error that I don't believe anyone else on Failure Inc is getting, but it seems that fresh installs of FML, the modpack https://dl.dropboxusercontent.com/u/3087200/FailureIncModpack2.zip and Minecraft itself doesn't seem to help.
I used both Java 7 & 8 (64 bit versions of both). Neither has worked, and the crash log above is from Java 8.
I am happy to give any additional information that is needed to help me figure out what I am looking for with the error.
