    Genesis is an extraordinary dimension which includes the time of the Precambrian (4500 Ma) until the end of the Cretaceous period (66 Ma). It consists of many unique biomes, realistic flora, a phenomenal diversity of animal species and new mechanisms.


    We started a rewrite of the mod and a renewal of all the textures. Pictures taken from the mod before rewriting but with new textures.


    Additions


    - Various rocks: granite, mossy granite, komatiite, orthogneiss, limestone, pegmatite and carbonado

    - Silt family: silt, red silt, cracked silt, red cracked silt, siltstone and red siltstone

    - Various ores

    - Humus, humus farmland and humus path

    - Ooze (pelagic)

    - Red clay

    - Wattle fences

    - Zingiberopsis (growing plant)


    WIP


    - Various trees: Araucarioxylon, Dryophyllum, Ficus (fruit tree), Ginkgo (fruit tree) and Metasequoia

    - Moss and humus moss

    - Various ferns: Dryopteris, Phlebopteris, Todites and Cladophlebis

    - Various plants: Palaeoaster, Aquilapollenites and Samniguelia

    - Terrain generator

    - Biome generation (each island will represent a specific geological period)

    - Campfire with the cooking pot

    In my opinion, the whole process of getting started in this dimension is so drastically different than normal Minecraft and doesn't fit well.


    But other than that, I absolutely love this mod! The textures, the mobs, everything. I hope for a release soon.



    What would be the point of the mod if you can bring items to the genesis? If players come with their cheated diamond sword and potions, it would kill the sense of the mod. Genesis mechanisms are different because we try to create something as realistic as possible while keeping the spirit of Minecraft. We try to do something original and have a different gameplay, otherwise what's the point to create a dimension like that? Genesis is a new adventure, with a more realistic look that Vanilla.

    ...and you can return to the overworld with the portal.

    My good sir, first off I am sorry to hear about that, and I sympathize with you in terms of motivation, I struggle with it from time to time, and if you wish to have an intelligent conversation in regards to prehistory, by all means Id be willing, and Id imagine others here would as well. As while the community may young, which is a good thing to ensure the game keeps on going, there are plenty here who are a lot older. One last thing, if you feel unmotivated due to such setbacks, which is entirely understandable, know that in my opinion this mod has so far achieved what no current prehistory mods have achieved, that being making a dimension about dinosaurs and prehistory that is truly in-depth, unique, and just plain awesome. As bold a statement as this may be, and no offense to other prehistory mods, Id say this mod would have a far better prehistory dimension than anything fossils and arch., and jurassicraft could create. I hope this might have helped you in some manner, and no, I'm not saying this just to see the mod keep going, to me that's somewhat selfish, I just cant stomach the idea of someone going through setbacks like this and not have someone to help them back up. On a finale note I wish to quote Charles Jones, " Things don't go wrong and break your heart so you can become bitter and give up. They happen to break you down and build you up so you can be all that you intended to be."
