Just a quick update because I haven't posted in a while: I'm still watching this forum and working on the mod every now and then when I get time. Just been busy with school. I have been working on an update to fix some of the issues I've seen posted on here. Maybe one more week before it's ready. No guarantee though.
So I used to use this a lot and I moved to my new computer and now it doesn't work anymore. I installed in 1.8 and it worked but in 1.7.10 forge, it doesn't work. I don't know why it doesn't work. I tried v31, v33 and v35. I would press the key but it drops my fps to almost nothing and it shows vanilla minecraft. Like it doesn't turn into xray.... any help?
What other mods do you have, if any? I tested only XRay v35 with 1.7.10 forge and it worked fine.

I know I am not using the latest version of X-Ray, but just in case you haven't seen this before, I will report this anyway.
I found that when I am standing on these exact Y coordinates, the rendering blocks that are lower than me and outside my chunk, completely halts like so:
I am standing on a block.
Me being higher or lower (regardless of standing on a block or not) works fine.

Those crashing on version 31 should try the beta version 32. If it's still crashing, post a fresh crash dump from version 32. Since it's a beta version, the download is on my website here.
The only changes in this version is how XRay detects blocks (which is where 99% of the crashing occurs).
Is there a way to change the brightness of the full bright? Example: normal gamma is 1.0 but i want to be able to toggle between a gamma of say 2 or 3 instead of like the super bright one. If there is no way i think it definitely should be part of the mod in a future update
There's no way to do this currently. I might be able to add an option to dim the fullbright a little bit. We'll see...
How do I make additional profiles work? I've tried editing a profile for just finding dungeons (chest/spawner/mossy stone the only things checked on the list) but it still comes up as the original profile. I don't fancy wiping out the default profile then re-clicking everything i want to see when i press X.
So in the user interface you click the + button and give your new profile a name. Then you're free to change the blocks how ever you would like in that profile. Lastly you need to give your new profile a keybinding in-game (each profile has it's own keybinding).
Could you add a transparent block function so that you're still able to see what else except for ores is around you?
This was discussed a few posts back. Basically the demand for this is really low. Additionally it would require rewriting the entire mod from scratch. So it's not going to get implemented anytime soon.
This is very useful I like how I can make my own x-rays I made a diamond finder and a hazard finder for multiplayer. I also like the easy download it has one downside though it will not work with optifine that stinks because my laptop is a little slow and optifine fixes that.
It should work with OptiFine. When installing XRay select an OptiFine profile to install into.
Hi I've got a similar problem of chas8989, I created a new profile and I modified xray.json to assign the "47" key, when I start the launcher the key reset to "0" and I can't use the new profile, can u tell me how to assign a key in the right mode please?

Thanks so much for all your work on the xray mod. I know people say that it's just a cheat but tbh I use it to catch hackers on a server. It lets me see through that walls in our pvp arenas and lets me "hide" where people don't think I can see them to watch them when they break server rules. Thanks for that!
But I just got a new laptop, and moved from an apple to an HP Windows 10. Now I can't seem to make the installer work. I've downloaded the latest java and the jre-8u91-windows-x64.exe and they all seem to be installed correctly, but when I open the x-ray installer it just flashes a box and disappears. I never get an errors or anything to work with. idk what to do now.
Try right clicking on the XRay file, and go to Open with[/i] ~> Java(TM) Platform SE binary.[/i]

For LabyMod, use the static install feature.
As for the crash dump you posted above: I don't think that crash is related to XRay. Looks like a bug in Forge.

To remove XRay, just delete the profile you created at %AppData%/.minecraft/versions
Not sure what moutoux is. Could you link me to where I could find more information about it?
To make XRay with with labymod, you need to do a static install. There's an option to do one right after you click the install button.
It should work with OptiFine. When installing XRay select an OptiFine profile to install into.
