Chickens emit a click sound like static on a record (CDs of the 1950s-1980s).
Pigs sound like they walk on hollow ground.
Sheep sound OK
Cows some like they way tons on hollow ground.
Edit: Oops, bats need sound and they look like crap. -

This is somewhat what I've been waiting to see.
I only pushed a few sliders enough to affect changes to otherwise normal worlds.
A little more height, so I could amp it up and a little extra noise to roughen the world a little.
Most of it worked and results are promising with just a few tweaks.
Lowering the sea level results in a lot of dry dirt that later turns green is grass is nearby. Sandy beaches appear less at least in the test world I started with.
In an older world it looked like rendering actually picked up until I ran a minecart over about 15 or so chunks then I caught up with the "Langaliers" and I though I was going to roll off into the ether but the track popped in just in time. Local LOD seems to render just in time but 1+ can be missing and stay missing for some time.
Missing chunks is not new but when you can walk past your base because those chunks are missing it starts to suck.
Bonus- you can really see where all the caves and baddies are and if it's still light up top while you are deep in the lava pits.
18A please!

Time lost from playing Minecraft 1 hour. People that write these craplets need to be shoved into a mob grinder. Minecraft forge is not a craplet from what I can tell and is OK to use..

To some of us Minecraft is a business where resources are spread out in different regions and pulling logs out of the rainforest or sand and clay from the deserts to build cities on the plains or mountains. Booster rails have been the best part of the hole system. Kicking them up a "Notch" would make it just that much better. As for speed, 2x or 3x would do. As Yoshi put it prediction would be a challenge on some rails but the answer to changing direction is mostly a fact that turning creates drag in normal rail and would attenuate the highspeed as well. I'm expecting that by not loading chunks in distance would allow more time to determine needed chunks in the path. Lag is Lag and it happens just as unpredictable that a skeleton is going to appear in your fortress at time.
Next I'll suggest global warming because we need an excuse to cut back on all that coal mining.

The problem still exists underground where all the leaves have rotted away.
I'm tunneling through a mountain in the jungles now (huge biome). I am still at level 80 I am deep in rock just as if underground.
Going to kill fancy and see.

I would suggest using the extra space at the top of the booster rail receipt for lapis to make a high speed booster. Effect would deminish rapidly after X meters so you would require them often per length of track.
On the rendering side I would go to hypertube/wormhole mode rendeing only 2 to 3 chunks either side and motion blur the scene past 1 or 2 LOD. You would need normal distance rendering fore and aft. This would cut lag to a minimum while making a cool effect.
Usefulness: Traverse large maps in better time. I make large expanses of cities and travel alot.
Game Involvement: XBooster Rail added using Six gold bars, One stick, One Redstone and One Lapis or other.
Dev Involvment: Changing render engine, adding receipt and adding hyper-speed feature.
Dev Difficulty: Medium.

Quit for a while then come back and then start all over. I've not seen a creaper in ages and don't miss any of the mobs I just keep building stuff then take another break.

Cart sound drops out to a jittery sounding sputter that rises and falls in timbre then later returns to normal. Seems to be location specific where I ride through areas that reproduce the effect repeatedly.
Others: Random flames in mid air, shaky carts, ladder sounds like climbing with one hand.

I took a train ride to another area and when I returned the chunk reloaded as expected,
