    posted a message on PS3 Saves - Corrupting/Freezing/Crashing

I have noticed lately that attempting to saveagain after a recent auto save causes crashing. Usually on my base, but also off base. This has happened about one in four times.

And I also got a second dragon egg after respawning the ender dragon for some quick xp to make a new sword with. I thought you could only get just one egg?

You're using an outdated system. villagers have to be willing now. in order to get them willing they have to have crops that they plant and harvest. Breeders now require at least one farmer villager and a second villager inside that he tosses food too. They both become willing, they mate.

posted a message on Advice please - facing the Wither on MCX360 survival for the first time

What difficulty are you playing on, because that can really make a difference. If it's on Easy, you will take damage from the wither by its heads but it's like getting blasted by a creeper from a distance that can hurt but not kill.

Normal or hard, you will get blasted and withered. In normal, the withering effect is Finite, like timed potion effects, and additional hits do not add to the effect time.

In hard mode, the withering effect stacks each time you take damage, adding another minute with each hit.

Withering is not poison. Poison won't kill you, but withering will.

Here's what you need. Smite V sword. Power V bow, ideally with infinity on it. If not, have around two stacks of arrows. Bring a golden apple. Notch apple is even better. Only use it in the case of being withered while you snipe with your bow.

Splash potions of strength II (glowdust instead of redstone dust) splash potion of regeneration, and a bucket of milk.

It's best to take it underground. Out in the open it's destructive and flies around and behind things and kills passive mobs. Never spawn one by on your base. I always take mine as far down as the bedrock because the wither can destroy any block, even obsidian, but not bedrock. Trust me, these things leave quite a wake, and the less room it has to move around, the better. Dig a long hallway, like branch mining for diamonds. Build a little room at the end of the tunnel, especially at the map edge. The soul sand cannot touch anything or it won't make the wither.

When first creating it, it will begin to fill its healthbar. It cannot be damaged at this point so don't even try. When it reaches full health, it will send out a shockwave which will destroy anything nearby, including you. Give it a very wide berth

From a good enough distance, around 15 or 20 blocks, it will not attack you, so begin shooting it with arrows until it gets down at half its health. It will then shield and deflect any projectiles and begin to heal. This is when you hit yourself with your potions and go in with your sword. It will wither the crap out of you, but the regeneration will protect you. The combination of smite V and strength II at half health will finish off the wither in seconds.

Once it's dead, drink your milk to stop withering. You can still die at this point without it. At least on hard mode.

posted a message on Going into old worlds

Have you ever went into old worlds from when you first started playing and facepalm so hard that you just wanted to punch your then self in face? I went into one of my first worlds from a year ago. So sad. Bedrock house, diamond block pillars that act as beacons, crappy cobblestone square I called a house, and an animal pen that was maybe around fifty blocks wide... with spawn eggs in a chest because they were always disappearing and i couldn't figure out why back then. Lmao

posted a message on Animals no longer disappear... is this a glitch?

But this, I mean any that are wander around freely, not the ones in fences. And this is causing problems. Mostly because of caps. I cannot breed very much if anything because it seems that animals that spawn naturally do not disappear now ever. Sheep especially. Is this on purpose or is it another glitch?

To prove this, there has been a gray horse hanging out by the large island next to my base. It has far more than 20 blocks of free space but it has yet to despawn. I have sheep all over the place. I went and killed a huge group of cows, sheep, pigs and chickens clumped together in just one small area. I know some seeds may have a tendency to populate more than others, but this is getting out of hand!

posted a message on Villagers dissapearing when passing through a nether portal

It's doing that on ps3 as well. I tried moving a butcher in the nether in my sanctuary so i can buy food from him while I'm grinding for loot and xp in the fortress. I think it's a new glitch.

posted a message on Anyone Else Play Survival Mode in Peaceful?

Most of the time I leave it on hard mode, but when I'm mining for quartz in the nether or working on a really big project, I will set it to peaceful just so I don't deal with hassles. I also put it on peaceful when i'm moving villagers around outside to prevent them from being killed by zombies.

Sometimes when I put it on peaceful mode, I have a tendency to leave it as such for longer than expected. It nice once in a while to have a little stress-free play.

I also like how you can still get most achievements in peaceful mode that don't require killing mobs. Ender Dragon fight without stupid endermen, at least after defeating it the first time on another difficulty. Or exploring end cities without those crappy shulkers. No shame in it. Not everyone needs a challenge to have fun.

posted a message on Mesa Biome question

I always branch mine at level 12 because that's the same level as lava. That way i can toss water and keep going. I never dug in the mesa though. I usually dig in extreme hills. Extreme hills seems to have more diamonds and ores than most places. But I play console edition so that might be the case on console.

posted a message on Hang up during saves? This seems to help

So far this has a 100 percent success rate with over several hours of continuous play, but if you are dealing with the aggravation of the save screen hanging up, where the bar doesn't appear forcing you to exit out of your game, try this method.

It only helps with auto-save but seems fool proof so far. As soon as the countdown to saving starts, wait for it to reach 2 or 1 seconds and quickly pause the game for a moment or two. Pausing it stops the saving process. When you unpause, it should save your game as normal.

Like I said, this seems to work, with no fails so far. I would like others to try it too and let me know what your results are.

posted a message on What is the first thing you do once you create a survival world?

Besides the usual, punch a tree, crappy wooden pickaxe, get stone, make lightly less crappy tools? Look for a place to set up my first camp, kill sheep for bed and food, nomad for a bit, usually park in grassy plains near mountains and water with a desert not too far off, then spend an hour killing all the grass because I detest tall grass and play on console so there's no world edit options.

Then I start building a tiny wooden shack , dig out a deep, wide basement get spruce trees and plant them two by two for either super tall spruce or big christmas tree if I'm unlucky.

Then i set up two furnaces and a chest for food, cook, eat, then get some tools, crappy stone weapons and no bow because i have no arrows and torches and find a deep cave where i will die the first of many times. Get lost finding my way home, get frustrated and decide this map sucks and quit.
