I already mentioned some of those sources in my last post: You guys favor the discord to such a large extent that news outside is either late or completely forgotten in some cases.
I never once distributed a compiled build and very rarely compiled them in the first place except when I wanted to check new features ingame and cross mod interations that were added, the problem is im extremely lazy and compiling is work. I mainly checked the source from time to time to see what was changed or added and followed commits.
Both of which are impossible now. Seriously, you plug the discord almost as much as mod news( even the most recent twitter post had a discord plug in it.. ) when some people simply can't or won't join.. you need a more reliable and quicker way to update mods news outside of discord since it's lacking to a high degree and discord is pretty much behind a wall for some( this news issue is a problem ive explained to a few mod creators when everyone started swapping to discord for news.. yet I was ignored for the reason "It's easy so it'll work out" ).
Also your post came off as a bit too hostile in my personal opinion. Ive never once seen anywhere that you don't want others compiling a open source mod so I didn't know, yet you stress it no less then 3 times( yes you posted on twitter about it recently but that was waaaay after the fact since ive been checking the code and compiling sincd 1.10.2 versions ).
It's the internet. It will happen one way or another. Simple as that.

Just because you can't access the Discord chats doesn't mean we're neglecting you, so please stop acting like you're entitled to different social media privileges. Each social media platform is handled appropriately and as necessary based on the community characteristics and the demands of the platform. Each platform comes with benefits and drawbacks. And because of the different uses of each platform, we advertise them occasionally so people who might like to take advantage of those other platforms can. Every Tweet and Instagram post is immediately linked on our Discord, meaning they are constantly advertised there; they get 5000% more "plugs" than that one post about Discord. And, each platform DOES get the same news, all within 24 hours of each other depending on time constraints and Internet access. We're not neglecting the other platforms, we're just using them properly - and fans who can't use one platform or the other make do with what they have.
As for the compiling of our code, every compiler who did the same thing you did that we knew of had the courtesy to ask first, and we explained our position that we do not want people to do that. The fact that you felt the need to help yourself to someone's work, compiling it without even bothering to ask, is INCREDIBLY aggravating, and combined with the idiots who compiled it and are using every avenue they know to scam our fans, distribute our hard work, and mess with our download numbers, yeah, I got hostile. But I'm not ashamed of that, because this is something we've been working on for a long time and people can't be bothered to be polite or patient about it - hence why we closed the GitHub. If people abuse privileges like being able to see the code and progress there, the privileges get taken away. It doesn't matter what other mods do - it's about what we feel is the best choice to protect ourselves, our work, and our fans. And we aren't changing our minds.

We don’t want you compiling them, and we CERTAINLY don’t want anyone else compiling them and distributing them around like some sort of secret deal (which multiple people have been caught doing). Not touching the GitHub has always been a rule of ours. We have MANY sources where we talk about progress other than discord: these forums, the wiki, the twitter, the instagram. Use one of them instead of compiling our code without our permission. We specifically took down the GitHub because of this behavior.
I wonder what other skin changes might appear? It would be nice to see more color variance for a lot of the animals. Too many of them are green, even when you have feathers enabled. Logically the dinosaurs should have a variety of colors due to specific adaptations. the triceratops maintains this somewhat but on the matter of pterosaurs especially and perhaps the Spinosaurus, shouldn't there be a pretty stark difference between male and female color-wise? That isn't always consistent even in modern birds (Bald eagles look indistinguishable almost despite the gender for example, but a male chicken VS a female chicken are obviously different regardless of the fact we bred them for meat consumption), sure, but for animals with obvious display devices it would be logical for there to be more vibrant coloration.

Anyway, we released pictures of new terror bird textures for the 1.12.2 port! Gastornis and Phorusrhacos got complete redos in order to be more unique and original (AKA, not taken from WWB). Kelenken and Titanis also got slight updates with better patterning.
Well, if not islands, maybe volcanoes with petrified forests around them? Would be a neat structure to find in Extreme Hills biomes, with the volcano blended into the mountains.
I know :(, But at the time I was having a brain fart and couldn't think of an accurate term... But what do you think of the idea of having volcanic islands with petrified forests using the ancient wood?
I don't think ancient wood would work, and volcanic islands would probably be out of scope for what we're trying to do... But I wouldn't rule out a petrified wood block at some point
I know this mod doesn't normally take suggestions but, I was thinking, what if one of the naturally spawning ruins or artefacts could be a petrified volcanic island?
I suppose this could make sense, but logically with how evolution works its unlikely that feathers existed on anything other than therapods. And a while back you informed me the theory of the spikey triceratops had been falsified, which casts doubt on weither or not the quill shafts would appear a little different on any other order. Still, I always felt Dryosaurus looked a little plain. My friends often mistake it as a raptor or a dilo whenever im not around to remind them otherwise (this is only an issue on servers that enable wild dinosaur spawns), so the feathers if they are particularly vivid would be a good addition to the dryo as a means to better differentiate them.
You're aware Kuindadromeus, an Ornithischian, has feathers right? And Psittacosaurus still has it's quills, so quills/feathers are not exclusive to Therapods.
