My thoughts on the latest ep:

So, now that this episode is over, let's look forward to the next one!
First up, it's not gonna air for a couple of weeks. Maybe the staff is going on vacation.
However, this gives us 2 more weeks to HYPE IT UP!!!

My (late) thoughts on MLP S3 EP3

While we're talking about this, let me ask you all-
How did you find ponies?
I found ponies on this very thread (or a past incarnation, anyways). I dismissed the show for a few months until I found out it was made by Lauren Faust. Since I loved Powerpuff Girls and Foster's, I gave the show a watch. And here I am now.

My opinions on the episodes (now that I've calmed down a bit)

Once the mod is properly installed, there are a few things you can do to ensure maximum performance.

-Run the game in a smaller resolution in full-screen
-Lower your render distance
-When OptiFine is installed, try toggling "Options > Video Settings > Performance > Smooth FPS:". "ON" gives more responsive input and more steady fps, but likely lower maximum FPS.



Reporting an Issue

If this mod is giving you unusual results, please make sure that you installed everything correctly first.
If you are using this mod on a Mac, I'm sorry to say that I am powerless to provide Mac support. I apologize.

-Describe your issue thoroughly. Provide a screenshot or video if you can.
-Describe your system specs. If you forget this step, I cannot help in any way.
-Include the output log along with your issue report.
-Describe the shaderpack, OptiFine mod version, and Minecraft version that you are running when encountering this issue.

Okay, before I start, let me get this straight - I respect everyone's opinions.

Right, so, ever since the full version of Minecraft came out, I've noticed a large spike in those who now dislike all the new features, items, mobs, and of course, the biomes. And fair enough, not everyone enjoys the same things, that's completely understandable. However, people, you must realize, everything is subject to change. Games like Minecraft will always have updates that will appeal to some and not to others, and you have to respect that fact, and if you really really dislike the new features, you don't have to update. I would suggest reading the update logs on the MCWiki before updating if you are one of these people. And if you want to try it out and dislike the new versions, remember, you can always legally downgrade here.

I understand some new updates will not tickle the fancy of some. And it is most problematic when it comes to servers, as 90% are updated to the new version. But honestly, there isn't anything you can do about it, except learn to accept and adapt to the new versions or simply stay down and play singleplayer. I myself used to be one of those 'alpha master race' people, and I would never even give the new Minecraft a chance to see if it was actually decent. I played up to Beta 1.8.1 until I decided that I just couldn't do it anymore, the biomes sucked and I thought the updates were useless and pointless. Until I decided to give 1.4.5 a shot. That's when I realized (while the biomes were still kinda bland) that every update had a reason and Minecraft was much better than I thought.

What I'm trying to get at is that every update holds new experiences and while not everyone likes it, at least give it a shot. To those that don't even bother trying it, you really should consider it, you may be surprised.

There's one last thing I'd like to bring up while I'm here, and that's the amassed posts about the hatred of the new biomes. And while I agree that it is mostly true, they are pretty bland and not as good as they used to be, instead of completely disliking them, try to be creative. Use the environment to around you to build great cities, monuments, houses, whatever you think would work. No matter how bad these biomes may look, remember that you can make anything in Minecraft look good with a little effort.

I know the feeling of having nostalgic feelings towards older versions of Minecraft, the beautiful spawns, great landscapes, mining, all that. It's an amazing feeling and is really what made Minecraft what it is today. But remember, new memories can be created with every new update. New things to play around with, new things to learn, new things to bring new interests to some.

All in all, we must realize that Jeb and the team can't cater to the likes and dislikes of everyone. Because for every person that likes an update, there will be another that doesn't. If we learn to accept this, you will find you may actually enjoy the new versions. I know I sure did.

Living with the Cakes doesn't necessarily imply being very young, as it could simply be an apartment. To paraphrase the Overlord Faust, the Mane 6 are supposed to be old enough to act independently, but not so old they haven't learned anything about friendship or life.

18-20's is a good range where one still has a fair bit more to learn about life.
