posted a message on Player Busts - Craftable Player Heads
    Quote from SVGK

how would there be abuse on servers?, i still don't see why people are so against the idea of heads or bodies being copied.

I'm sure there's a joke about identity theft in there somewhere, but I'm too lazy to find it.

In all seriousness, this is a good idea, and I can't see any negative attributes.

I'm on board with this. I would love having a little coat of arms on my otherwise bland armor.

posted a message on Importing sprays
This wouldn't really fit into minecraft at all. The only way the idea could be even remotely justifiable is to add the option to disable them, and even to have that disabled by default.

posted a message on Snow Bricks
I'd imagine that these snow bricks are denser than regular (craftable, not the natural ones) snow blocks, and would therefore be more resistant to melting. Besides, normal (again, the craftable ones) snow blocks do not melt (please correct me if I'm wrong.) so why should these bricks melt?

Remove the whole "melting if near lava/fire" part and you have my support.

posted a message on Jams and Preserves
    Quote from Deonyi

I would also support the idea of crafting fruits with bottles which produces jars. Although, the shape changing might be odd so I suppose the idea of using bottles could be used instead.

It isn't that odd. Remember how brewing splash potions drastically alters the shapes of the bottles as well?

Personally, I'd support the "bottled jam" or the "jam + bottle = jar" method.

I'd be okay with bottled Jelly. What's a bottle but a comparatively thin jar, after all?

posted a message on A small end tweak.
    Quote from Deonyi

Hmmm... The entire End thing really needs updating. I really wish there was a set spot where the portal generates; say in a small endstone temple or something.

I'm thinking the same thing...You'd think that if the people who built/discovered the end portal made an entire stronghold to contain it in the overworld, then they would at least mark the other side with something more than a boring old obsidian platform.

    Quote from lazz99

How about dolphin villages, they could have their own houses and stuff under water. Dolphin villagers and regular villagers could enter love mode and have dolphin-villager mutant babies!

    I really hope you're joking.

    cactus's

    Cacti :)

I'm not a big fan of the whole pollination thing; I'd rather just have the flower naturally spawn on cacti.
Also, perhaps the number of pink dyes could be increased?

If you change those things, I can support this.

I think you might be posting in the wrong forum, as this one is for suggestions regarding vanilla Minecraft. Might I recommend the Redstone Forum instead?

posted a message on Waypoints: A New Use for Compasses
As many of you know, compasses point towards a world's original spawn point. This makes compasses an excellent tool if you use the spawn as a landmark of sorts. However, if you settle far away from the spawn, compasses lose a lot of their functionality. I think I may have a solution.

What I am suggesting is the ability to create a single waypoint using compasses. It works like this:

Compasses originally point towards the world's spawn point.
When a player right-clicks with a compass, the game stores the user's current position.
The player's compass will now point towards the stored coordinates.
If a player right-clicks again, the waypoint will be overwritten with the new coordinates.

Waypoints are linked to individual players, and are limited to one per player.
Also, if the player has multiple compasses, they will all point in the same direction.

    -----

I also propose a new (op-only/command block-only) command to go with this:

    /compass [player] X Z

This command will make that player's compasses point to the specified coordinates.

    -----

    Advantages over maps:
    • Greater precision
    • No paper required
    • Waypoint can be changed on the fly
    Disadvantages:
    • Only one waypoint per player
    • Waypoints cannot be shared between players
    • If you want to re-orient the compass back to the spawn, you have to manually reset it
What do you think? Please post feedback!

posted a message on Ah, Tantalizing Grape Trees In The Nether.
Welcome to the Nether! We have lava, fire, undead anthropomorphic pigs, giant jellyfish that spit fireballs, and grapes!

All joking aside this isn't too bad of an idea. Instead of silk touch, though, can we use shears to harvest the bushes?

(The Greek Myth that you are referring to is the Torment of Tantalus, correct? The only thing this needs is receding pools of water... except there is no water in the Nether :D)

posted a message on Some Ideas for Nether Content
This seems a bit too gory, frankly. I kinda like the idea of having a nether-equivalent to sugar cane but I think using it as an ingredient in chainmail armor is a bit pointless, considering by the time a player has gotten into the nether, they have probably made chainmail armor obsolete.

Also, the post is a bit vague. For things like the Nether Construct, we need numbers for health and damage, et cetera.

posted a message on Snow Villages and Water Villages
I like the snow village idea, except for the blaze powder. It seems completely out of place, since it comes from the Nether.

The water village idea could use a bit more tweaking. Maybe instead of stone islands, perhaps wooden platforms built on stilts?
I'm not a big fan of the spear, either.
