Actually right when they started the 1.6 update it was called the mob update
[citation needed]
I remember a lot of people (myself included) SPECULATING that it MAY BE the mob update because they hired the Mo Creatures guy to do horses.
What I do NOT remember is anybody from Mojang confirming this speculation.

1) Servers cost money. People who donate are literally paying the bills and allowing the server to continue. Without them, the server very well may not exist.
2) If you don't like a server, don't use it. If enough people do that then the 3 people donating will just kill each other over and over until they get bored and quit, and the servers go under. Hopefully you'll find a better server or get together with some friends and make your own.
3) The internet is full of jerks. Unless you personally know every single person on a server the chances of having a good time are almost nil.
Oops, that was 3 sides.

Nobody's getting rich running Minecraft servers. Most of them are using the money they get from this "scheme" to simply have to pay less. Complaining that you don't have 24/7 access to what they're paying for when you're not paying for it is... well... It's not the correct course of action. Let's leave it at that

I'm retired.
Hold something (wood blocks, probably) in your hand and dig the dirt. Then place the block immediately. The dirt will (usually) pop straight up and you can grab it. Even works with slabs.
Looks who's back. Back again. No, I'm actually not *back* per-se, just visiting the old digs.

Megatrain, the last thing I did in Minecraft was set up a MegaVillage for a MP server I was on, so they could trade anything for anything I'll have to watch your The End video.

I say post a new thread. That way if someone has a problem with it they can ask there for help. If several people ask here about several maps, it could get quite confusing which map was which.

Thanks for the work! I've updated the first post. I like the idea for the spawn room.

I not only don't mind this, I encourage it! Make your own thread for it and post here and I'll update the first post. I will link to all versions posted here and won't have a ton of time to devote to checking them out, so will preferentially list maps from names I recognize and maps reported to be good.

Okay I've gone from worried that it would happen to resigned that it was inevitable to now able to accept it: I have no desire at all to continue doing anything with Minecraft. It's sad, but I've just moved on. There is not enough time to play every game I want to play and I have to cut some out, and Minecraft - after literally years - is one of those games.
That said, Pancake 1.2 in its current state will always be available for download. I have no plans on removing it from the server its on and that server is my own personal site that I have no plans on discontinuing, ever. I will also continue to visit the forum and this thread in particular, of course.
Also, if someone would like to take a try at maintaining the map and bringing it up to the current version, I wholeheartedly support that. I may even play it, eventually
Sorry to anybody who feels led on by this. I truly thought that the past few weeks' of extra spare time would afford me a chance to work on the map, but I've just had 0 desire to do so. And I don't think that will change.

Dunno. Gives me stuff to think about before I get that spare time I'm looking forward to starting on Friday.
That's why I was renaming it However, with the unanimous votes for OceanBlock 5.0, it's clear where I should put my efforts!
True dat. I hadn't figured out an end portal solution. The nether won't be big enough for a Pancake-style mini scavenger hunt for portal frames.
And don't worry, I love giant jungle trees too. You'll be getting a jungle tree in the overworld no matter what I do

Actually I learned from OceanBlock... 2.0 I think it was... that if left undisturbed the villagers will happily stand on a tiny island forever. I don't know if it'll work with a chest but I don't see why it wouldn't.
I'll answer in a spoiler...
I said "essentially"
But yeah. Except probably obsidian, which would possibly make a layer of the ocean floor, or perhaps a 1x1x10 pillar directly under spawn. So you can't make a nether portal until you get a diamond pick.
The purpose is that they keep adding frickin' trees to Minecraft. 1 was great. Make a block, put a tree on it. 4 was a challenge but sure, 4 sides to a square, 4 trees. Sure there are giant oaks and 2x2 jungle trees but those are abberations. Now there are 6 saplings and over a dozen different tree types. And who knows where it'll go next. OceanHex? OceanNonagon? OceanIcosahedron? I'm being a bit hyperbolic but you see the point, I hope.
Actually there's not much more to it than that. I'd make for a cleaner, more consistent start point and make upgrading to a new version a simple matter of modifying the contents of the chests and possibly the villagers' trades.
Maybe I'm being lazy

I *think* so, but I thought so before so no promises
It's on the list of stuff to check before releasing, but if I simply can't get it I'll be releasing anyway.
The weird thing is, I never had any problems getting either to spawn.

I should have a decent amount of spare time in November, literally starting on the first and going maybe as far as Thanksgiving. I'd be surprised if I didn't have the time to make the new OceanBlock at that time.
I'm thinking currently one of 2 ways. 4.2 is essentially out of the question as there are too many changes in 1.7.x
I'd love to hear opinions on:
1: OceanBlock 5.0, a new island with one of each tree and some Nether changes.
2: OceanChest 1.0, which essentially has all the same resources but they're in a chest floating in the ocean and you spawn on it. Maybe 2 chests, and the other one has the 2 villagers standing on it.

The main reason for the "16 of each color wool" was to prove that you could make all colored dyes in sufficient quantity, or have sufficient quantity of sheep to sheer them multiple times. The second one of those really isn't important and I could see asking for - for example - all 16 colors be represented (or is it more than that?) and at least 5 (10 if there are 32 total colors) each of colored glass, wool, and clay. That way you would have to show you could do each, but not be QUITE so grindy as having to do a full spread of all 3 types. Though I have no idea how I'd write THAT down in the goals book.
Speaking of the book, I ESPECIALLY like the idea of achievements. If I could programatically specify ALL achievements that would be pretty sweet. It's something I've wanted in both this and Pancake for quite some time.
