Witch Material do you think is Better to use for tools or in combat?
Iron has that appealing Chalk white color that makes you intimidating to the un-armored individual. Its almost as common as god Damn Rocks and its a good item for currency in online servers who use barter methods for the exchange of good such as food and Materials
Diamond, that Sky blue gem that sparkles even in the deepest of caves, its a number one priority for the average player and is a clear sign that you will not be ****ed with in the open when in a full set of armor. It completely decimates stone as if it were paper against a pair of brand new, shiny steel scissors. Unfortunately, its extraordinarily hard to find, only finding 4 or 5 after going through an entire set of mining tools.
Witch do you think is better?
The common, and abundant white metal that makes great armor
or The Sparkly, powerful gem that marks you as a #1 target on the "Kill-for-cheap-diamonds" list?

Everypony except Fluttershy and RD is best pony (They are overrated).
Team fortress 2: I make noobs my bitches.
Diamonds. If you get a diamond pick you can easily get 30-40 diamonds before it breaks. Plus it is the most resiliant material so who cares if your #1 on the kill list, you'll just blow them out of the water.

OH HOLY CRAP IT'S THE VOID! TURN BACK! TURN BACK! You died...
I only ever use iron armor... Diamond armor is too expensive, I'd rather make more pickaxes and swords. I'll have plenty of iron, usually, so I use that for armor instead. But yeah, I love diamond tools. Specificly sword and pickaxe...
Diamond is better for tools, iron is better for armor. ^^
Diamond. I often find myself getting 15+ diamond through branch mining, so I can make a breastplate AND armor. It's even better when there's a server shop, and you can just grind mobs for unlimited diamonds.
single player: diamond all the way as a long term goal.
as for the thread topic on multiplayer, steel is ultimately good enoughh for armor since it is common as coal, and only real difference now from diamond is durability.
but for swords, diamond is the best, simple as that. if you want to not be a target, diamond is the only choice when facing players with as many diamonds as you.
Not based on number of diamonds for the armor part as well, but based on the fact you're stuck with pieces that are giving only half a shirt of armor for so bloody long that you either throw it away, or get killed by something you shouldn't have if you had taken the time to just replace it with better armor.

Do you have a lovely bunch of coconuts? Do you have them all standing in a row? Are there big ones, small ones, some as big as your head?
I use Diamond for a Pick and a sword. Everything else, except for hoe's, is made out of iron.
Diamond is not hard to find.
I have less than 24 hours on the hardcore challenge map I am playing and have over 50 diamonds so far.
I don't even spend all my time mining either. I have only spent about 1/6th of my time playing on this map in my mines, and most of that was to gather cobble.
Trying to get games written for windows to work on a Linux machine is like trying to put a diaper on an incontinent buffalo. Sure, you might get it all done, but you'll certainly be left with a huge mess, and it's very time consuming.
Enchant your iron armor, enchant your diamond tools, you're unstoppable.
That's basically my hardcore world's logic. So iron for armor, diamond for tools. With a good enchantment, Diamond can get you A LOT of diamonds. Diamond armor tends to outlast you though.

Depends, diamond is more powerful, but rarer, i use it when im going on a hunting trip, and i use iron for day to day use
Irons a great mid game tool for a reason. It may lack diamonds durability, speed, and power to mine obsidian, but iron is plentiful and can mine the same things as diamond. Diamonds are great for tools but iron is great for armour.

I beat two super hostile maps, see of flame 2 and spellbound, have to finish more. Plan to do inferno mines for lulz and win when it goes out. Have fun!
Diamond over Iron.
I love iron, don't get me wrong. It's useful, rather durable, versatile!
But Diamond is four times the durability, substantial amount more defensive, a round few hearts more damaging, and also: Enchanting!
What I was gonna say in a nutshell.
But I'm gonna write it for the hell of it :tongue.gif:
Iron protects you the same as diamond, just it's durability is a bit shorter than diamond.
Diamond tools are a lot better than iron tools in the fact that they can destroy blocks faster and and more than twice as durable.
So, if you want to choose, use a combo of iron for armor, and diamond for tools such as swords and picks.

“Patience up to a point. Know your time, but work your wyrd always.”
How come nobody wants to **** with me then?
With one iron pick and about 10 minutes I can leave with at least a stack of iron ore
