Alright i build this mob spawner and the room is completely dark and its 9x9x5 and im in the 15 blocks and the zombies are out of the 8 block zone. the zombies would spawn a lot then just stop spawning. the zombies are still alive. the fire thing is still going like it would when it spawns mobs. idk whats up HELP PLEASEalso it would spawn again after i kill all the zombies
I'm pretty sure spawners have a limit of around 8 zombies at a time. If you want more zombies, use water to move them out of the spawning area and have them collect at a point within 32 blocks of where you are standing.
Spawners are unique in that they still spawn zombies, spiders, and skeletons even if the floor is covered with water, so you can make a water path that forces them to a collection point farther away.

Well, to be honest I've never made a mob spawner-based trap before, all the ones nearby I destroyed before I learned about xp traps, mob grinders, etc.
All I can say is to double check the distances, if the spawner is more than 8 blocks away from the collection point, then I can't see what you're doing wrong. If there's more than 6 zombies in the collection point, then your distances are probably fine.
I guess it's possible that there's already tons of hostile mobs around you and you're simply reaching the mob limit on hostile mobs (80 I think?), but I'm sure you would have checked for that already.
I hope someone smarter than me can say something, I'm curious as to what's actually happening here.
The spawner will stop if there are a certain number, maybe 8, in the dungeon. I think maybe your collection zone is so close to the spawner that it thinks the zoms are still in the room.
I made a spawner-based trap and it takes some fine-tuning. Spawners are a pain to work with.

i followed a youtube guide. i made it the same as the guide but the guide got SOOOO much zombies
The total number of mobs in other caves and above ground at night could be affecting it, since they add towards the maximum number of mobs than can be present. Light up some caves if you havent already. If that doesnt help much then just get used to killing them off when you get a large number at the collection point

i know i have water that takes them farther away
i made it really really far before used 2 cans of water just to take them there but it still doesnt spawn after 2 dozen or so zombies are spawned
ive had this spawner for 1 day now. and closed minecraft and got back on it a few times already
alright ill try to
Collection zone(full)
Glows but dont spawn
