Yo, so I was walking in a snowy area and suddenly I fell into one of those annoying above ground lakes. It was covered in floating snow! I broke a bunch of it, because I wasn't thinking, but then it hit me. If we can recreate this once it snows, we can have traps in SMP where the unsuspecting player walks right into a large hole without even realizing it due to the power of floating snow! So we just have to learn how to recreate this, which is hopefully possible.

No you didn't, because TNT damage doesn't stack.
See my About Me section for info about me.
Snow doesn't form on signs. You can use SinglePlayerCommands or admin in SMP and give yourself some 78 (snow) to test it out.
Yes, signs are blocks. So are flowers. Snow won't form on flowers, either since they're not "ground" blocks. This is nothing more than a glitch or the result of a mod. If it's a glitch, it would be nearly impossible to reproduce reliably. If it's a mod, then use the mod.

That's a glitch, and as far as I know, it's not recreatable. It happens when the worl is generated. It generates the world and then replaces some blocks to put in lakes. The blocks that the snow was on got replaced, but the snow remained.

LOGIC BE DUH EXPLOIT OF LIFE!!! U MUST DO AS ME SAYZ!!
Traps like this were possible (and used) before the biomes update when it still snowed.
1) Dig a pit (of ANY size)
2) Place signs along one edge
3) Place signs on those signs until you cover the entire area
4) Wait for snow to cover the signs
I once did this with a 8x8 area and had a whole hidden below ground house.

to get the snow to cover it, put a sign inside of the pit.
The snow recognizes the sign as an actual block, so it will cover the area above the sign.
Use multiple signs for bigger pits.
Right now it might be a glitch, but when 1.5 comes out the snow will fall on all blocks. the sign is recognized as a block
(that's why it blocks water)
it's how people made traps back when maps were all snow or no snow.

Dig a 1x1 pit, put a sign at the top block; snow will cover it. It can't be done now but the new update should allow it to be recreated!
