Several days ago I was building in one of my worlds when I noticed that my render distance was at 8 chunks, since I was in a void world I figured it would do no harm to put it up to 32 so I could load in the whole world (it's full of my space-ships). And when I did I found that in any area further than eight chunks one chunk was flashing duplicates in all the others, the blocks of the other chunks were still there, they were just invisible. This happened to all my worlds even after restarting Minecraft and my computer.
Maybe 32 is too much for you graphics card to handle? I experience similar symptoms when I over reach with my own machine, which is very probably less powerful then yours. At my max render distance my system also fails to visually render sections of terrain. Making sure you have latest Java version is the first step to understanding what your computer can handle.
Because my own computer is not powerful, it is sensitive to loads that push the CPU.There is always a marked drop off in Minecraft's graphics performance if Windows is running some background task as I am playing, like a scan or checking for updates.
My graphics card isn't very good but it can handle 32 (just) especially when I'm in a void world with no terrain and no super-large builds. Also to be honest your system it probably way better than mine, (my specs are in my bio).

Just curious, that's all.
Post a screenshot with F3 enabled and your JVM arguments.

I have no idea what "JVM arugments" are and the uploader won't let me upload a file, sorry. I'll keep trying.
