I am unable to open/play minecraft when I hit "play" I immediately get the following error message
Error: Could not find or load main class net.minecraft.client.main.Main
I am running on Linux Mint 17.3
Below is my Launcher Log if that helps, If you need anything else to trouble shoot please let me know

Hello hal2k2,
I got 2 things you should try.
- Reinstall java (or install if you forgot to install that)
I am not sure that there is any Java version available for Linux? Contact me if this is correct. We will find an other solution.
- Reinstall Minecraft. Guide is in the spoiler.
Press WINDOWS KEY + R
- Type in %appdata%
- Delete the folder named .minecraft
- Now try to open up the launcher. BE AWARE! THIS METHOD DELETES ALL WORLDS, LISTED SERVERS AND OTHER SELF-INSTALLED FILES. THIS IS A FRESH INSTALL OF MINECRAFT
