Today I got on my pc and I have Avira and MalwareBytes on my pc and then Avira said that minecraftlauncher.exe is bds/bladabindi.bryb virus and deleted minecraftlauncher.exe PLZ HELP.
I have had the same issue. Reading the logs, Avira tells me that it updated itself this morning and two times after that. I played last night so I thought that this update might be the cause of the issue. I also never found any other people with the same issue until now when you posted this.
First it complained about Minecraft.exe of containing this trojan. Then, after downloading the msi from the official site and installing it, it started complaining on both. Now, due to how Avira handles its files, I cannot replace, remove or rename the file as I cannot levitate myself to the required Administrative privileges required.
I would love to provide with any additional help if required and to solve this issue. As SeaWry said, it probably is bogus definitions and it is flagging a false positive.
I just got this a couple hours ago, first I downloaded a texture pack from resourcepacks.net and restarted minecraft launcher and it says the file was moved. I then erased minecraft.exe and redownloaded from the official site loading up the msi installer. Then it kept saying I don't have privileges to access it even if I logged into the administrative user and it still says I don't have privileges to open it. Now whenever I scan it- it says that it detects bds bladabindi and puts it in Quarantine from my Avira. I wonder if it's from the resource pack or if minecraft site was hacked.
I think it's just a false alert. Every other virus scanner I've tried says the file is safe. I actually had to uninstall Avira to download the latest Minecraft launcher, as disabling real-time protection didn't even work correctly for me. I will install Avira again if they get their act together.
MinecraftLauncher.exe is being detected as bds/bladabindi.bryb which is a reported backdoor server program which is used to spy out, modify, and or delete data. (It can also change a program), it is most likely a false positive in the recent as the launchers programming is likely similar to that of most common bladabindi.bryb's. I would exercise caution until either Mojang or another source says otherwise or better information comes in over time.
For now, I have included MinecraftLauncher.exe into my exceptions list.
It would be helpful if some other people with other Anti-Virus programs such as AVG or Kaspersky would scan their MinecraftLauncher.exe
Kaspersky marks bds/bladabindi.bryb as "Trojan.Win32.Agentb.bkwy"
disable avira.
Then install the launcher whole process
then activate again avira
scan the folder and this will delete the infected files but in the folder '' game '' will be '' launcher '' This file is not deleted, just install java and open '' laucher '' with javaw.exe
also be able to play minecraft without this error
temporarily.
YEP
but people like me delete all files considering reinstalling.
miencraftlauncher.exe can not be installed and '' launcher '' does not appear, so give those steps.
This happened to me yesterday. Same case as McTwist's: Avira AV updated itself right before blocking and quarantining the launcher. I let it scan the rest of my PC, and it told me it's squeaky clean.
I sent the quarantined file to Avira Virus Lab. I later received an email from them saying it's "known clean" and they "could not find any malicious content". Let's hope Avira fixes this soon.

Edit: After a couple of hours fixing and reading up on this "trojan virus" with my boyfriend. It appears that it was a virus created years ago and Avira has made false accusation of the minecraft launcher. This is not any fault of minecraft it is just Avira having an issue: falsely accusing minecraft launcher as the old trojan virus making the launcher unplayable. Before figuring that out I had to download Microsoft security scanner and does not even detect the launcher. I had to uninstall Avira (for the time being) and I'm sticking to the microsoft security scanner, deleting all minecraft files and installer. Without Avira, I reset and set up minecraft launcher starting without any problem.
Stated in my last post here, the best way I had to do it is uninstall Avira (or any program preventing the minecraft launcher to launch). I got a different virus scanner and does not detect minecraft as a virus so after I uninstalled Avira, minecraft ran like normal
Open up Avira and click on settings for real-time protection. In there, go to Real-Time Protection->Scan->Exceptions and add your file there. Recommended is to disable Avira before you do it, or else it's going to quarantine it again.
But, if you don't know what you're doing, please refrain from doing anything until we know for sure it's a false positive. We have no idea if it really is or that Mojang implemented something in a patch that caused it.

I added MinecraftLauncher.exe to my exceptions list, and when I try to repair it and get the launcher back I get this msg: Error Writing To File: C:\Program Files (x86)\Minecraft\MinecraftLauncher.exe. Verify that you have access to that directory.
Anyone know how to verify I got access? Or any other way to use the MCLauncher?
Rollback Post to RevisionRollBack
send minecraft diamonds or else i will hit you in the face with my diamond sword
After I downloaded a fresh copy of the MC launcher, I kept receiving notifications from the AV saying it blocked/quarantined it, but for some reason the launcher was still in my downloads folder. Whenever I tried to open my downloads folder, File Explorer kept freezing. I tried deleting the MC launcher via Command Prompt (elevated), but it kept saying "access denied". Disabling real-time protection didn't help. After uninstalling the AV and restarting the PC, I was finally able to delete the MC launcher.
The AV did more harm than the supposed malware itself. I'll just stick with Malwarebytes Anti-Malware and Windows Defender, and wait for Avira or Mojang to sort this out.
I'm so dumb. I had to reset my PC because I thought it was an actual harm to my Pc. ;-; i want my stuff back. but it was probably for the best. Thanks guys!
@AwesomeAhmed: Try checking the hard drive Windows is installed in (it's usually "C:"). If there's a folder named "Windows.old", your files are likely in there.

Avira released bogus definitions and is flagging the launcher.

i thought i was the only one
so its not safe?

When I deactivated Avira to be able to scan it properly, I found this: https://virustotal.com/sv/file/5aca0c9ad8591f4e1e842e5a53a7573c6e84b9bc6729e601d87879e0568ea91c/analysis/1470510442/

Just go to the minecraft directory folder and open the launcher .jar file inside.

Had to get rid of Avira AV in my PC as well.
