Hey, i recently fixed my old laptop that had a better CPU than what my older laptop had. The one i fixed has a intel I3 with Intel Graphics. Now i remember i used to hear that Mc was a more CPU intense game so shouldn't i be getting better frames? As of right now i get 20ish frames on the lowest rendering settings. Sometimes it drops to 2 or 3 and looks like its not even moving. I have already tried uninstalling Mc deleting the .minecraft folder, downloading optifine and allocating more ram but still nothing. My old pc that i replaced would run Mc fine at 20 fps with no frame drops at 12 for rendering. Heres a pic of specs:
Heres more:
I feel like i should be able to run the game smoother because on the old laptop i couldnt play CS:GO right since i was getting 5fps, but now im getting like 29ish fps on csgo and other games that run smoother than before.
however, i think your graphic chip is the problem. i know that csgo is a very cpu-intense game, and (according to your experiences) i assume that minecraft needs both... but thats just a wild guess
Don't try comparing Minecraft to CS:GO they're completely different in architecture. CS:GO uses DirectX while Minecraft is using the inferior OpenGL, the two formats are extremely different with DirectX severely outperforming OpenGL. It's also important to note that CS:GO is fairly well optimized while Minecraft has little to no optimization so it can't make efficient use of your systems resources. Try the advice listed above, don't play on full screen, make sure your system is using the latest graphics drivers and Java, and allocate 2GB's of RAM to Minecraft. You may also want to avoid 1.9+ as it tends to offer poor performance on older/weaker hardware, I'd suggest using 1.8.9, 1.7.10 (with Fastcraft), or 1.6.4 and below.

can't agree totally. i had 0 fps in the main menu with vanilla 1.8, and ~10fps with optifine. 1.7.10+optifine runs with ~35fps, 1.9 with optifine with 25-30fps, so i can't recommend the 1.9. However: I don't think my hardware is representative, i figured out that this 1.8 issue only happened on specific systems, so it may work for you. just try and error
I fully agree with you on 1.8 as I barely got 4 fps with it (15 or so with Optifine) but Mojang seems to have done quite a bit to optimize 1.8.9 as I'm now able to get 25-30 fps in 1.8.9 with 33 mods installed which is impressive seeing as I only get 40 fps tops in 1.7.10 (and this with Optifine, Fastcraft, and BetterFPS) vanilla. Strangely Mojang seems to have removed all this optimization in 1.9 as I can't get even 20 fps with Optifine and get frequent drops to 5 fps, all in all I stick to 1.6.4.

In advanced thank you for your time
Try the following:
-Render distance: Tiny
-Use VBOs: True
-Use VSync: True
-Smooth lighting: off
-OptiFine
i got my fps ideas in my signature

GPU is the problem. Also while your CPU may be better, it's still not a very good one. Older mobile i3's aren't exactly fast.
