(This may sound like a modded client issue but it actually isn't)
So essentially my problem began after i downloaded ATLauncher so I could play on my friends modded server. After downloading it it told me i should download 64-bit java for better performance. I followed a link it gave me and proceeded to download Java 7u79. Once it finished i went back into the ATLauncher and tried to add my profile, but whenever i tried it told me i was in offline mode and could not add it. I checked to make sure i was connected to the internet, and i was, but it still wouldn't let me add my profile. So I tried opening the vanilla minecraft launcher at which point it opened up, but displayed a message in the launcher saying i could only play offline due to an issue with java. Because of this i went into my computer's program files and deleted my previous version of java (which was 8u25 oddly enough) thinking that it was the old version i had that was the issue (I also uninstalled it from my computers programs as well). After doing this, the minecraft Launcher will not open at all, and whenever I click on it i get an error message saying, " The registry refers to a nonexistant Java Runtime Environment installation or the runtime is corrupted, the system cannot find the path specified". These are all the fixes/steps i've taken and tried to fix it.
1. Downloaded most recent java version, 8u45 and deleted 7u79 (No result)
2. Changed PATH variable in system settings to lead to the new java i installed (No result)
3. Tried to redownload and install minecraft launcher but recieved error message, "Cannot download minecraft at this time, please try again later"
4. Tried to run Java Uninstall program to start with a clean slate, but program told me my java was out of date and subsequently wouldn't run/became unresponsive
5. Manually deleted Java 8u45 from Program Files (x86) and went to reinstall, but recieved error message when trying to install saying, "The installer cannot proceed with current Internet Connection settings"
6. Downloaded Java 8u45 again, this time using the offline installer and successfully have it installed (but when i try to verify my java version, the program doesn't respond and doesn't give me a security prompt to run it like it did before)
7. Launcher still gave same error message, so I deleted all Versions of java once again and repeated the previous step with the same outcome.
EDIT: I think it's an issue with the path i have set under my profile settings in the launcher itself, but i don't know how to access and change that since i can't even open the launcher anymore
The thing i'm worried about though is if I uninstall the launcher i won't be able to reinstall it, because everytime i've tried up until now it says it's been unable to download it
