I play on Minecraft 1.8, and recently I have been playing on a somewhat popular server (around 100-200 people on at a time), and when walking, I get a huge FPS drop (2-4FPS) but when standing still I get around 30FPS. Just when I walk, my FPS just goes up in flames. I went to a popular server to see if it was just the server I was playing on, and it did the same. I went to 1.8 pre-3, and it did the same.
I know there was this issue when 1.8 came out, but was it ever resolved? If so, please do tell me. (Btw, I usually set my minecraft video settings to the lower settings, fast graphics, no clouds, etc)
PS. It's not like I have a bad computer, it's pretty okay, I used to could be able to run Minecraft at around 50 FPS on 1.7, but the server I currently play on runs on 1.8 ):
Edit: removed the cuss word, sorry, don't use this a lot, I didn't know cussing was looked down upon.

Well. Try allocating more ram to your minecraft. Or if you have optifine. Reset the video settings. Also try cleaning your PC from dust. That gave me a good performace. Can you tell me your computers specs? Because dont expect a weak laptop to run minecraft. Try reinstalling minecraft
Update your driver software version and try doing everything I said above. See of it works.
Also. Do you have a powerful PC? If so you should be getting 100fps or above in vanilla. Because ifyou are getting 50 that means you have a weak laptop.

There was a computer dating back to Adam and Eve. An apple, and a very bad one at that, it only took 1 byte to crash everything.
