On Mac OS X 10.8.4, whenever I attempt to make the screen bigger, either with the maximize (green plus) button or manually, it crashes my entire Mac, and it reboots. Never seen another program do that on my Mac. Previously played version 1.5.2 of Minecraft without any issues. There are no updates in Software Update, so I should be up to date. Here's what the launcher's Developer Console says:

I can verify the OP's concern with the kernel panic. Having the same issue on a 2011 Mac Mini with 10.8.4. AHT passes everything fine. This also happens on a 2010 MBP running 10.8.4 for me as well. Kind of strange it's happening with two systems. Kernel panic log indicates the same issue as above, the Intel integrated video driver (HD3000). Something in the Minecraft code isn't playing well with OpenGL or whatever Minecraft is using. And no, it's not a hardware error on my end... not on two systems. I've never seen an app quite "reset" the computer like this - or at least since my Commodore Amiga days in the early 90's when an app could Guru the system.
FYI, I registered just to post this since I was having the same issue on two 10.8.4 systems where my kids try to maximize the game... is there an official way to submit an actual bug report to the authors?
