Even after the same events occuring in 1.6.1, I still don't seem to see a way to fix this problem. I NEED HELP. D***IT, MOJANG ;-; I mean... Fix this, please. PLEASEPLEASEPLEASE.
1. If your using the normal launcher and have downloaded a copy of the pre-release. Open Minecraft Launcher, Click Options on the left and click Force Update. Wait for it to update, then re-download the pre-release file. I am pretty sure this is the outdated method.
2. Using the Pre-release launcher, available here mojang.com/2013/06/minecraft-1-6-pre-release Download for your Operating system. Open the launcher and click New Profile up the top left. Leave all the fields the same (maybe rename the profile). Click Save profile. Up the top left change the profile to whatever you just named the profile, login and play.
3. If that still doesn't work navigate to the directory where the minecraft bins are saved for this launcher. They will be different that the default one. Yours looks to be on a mac which is in /Users/thomasperry/Library/Application Support/minecraft/versions In the versions folder are all the downloaded versions for the pre-release launcher. Go inside the version you are having trouble with, 1.6.1 and delete the jar file. Then repeat Step 2.
4. Update your java version, i'm not to sure how to do this on a mac.

I tried all of the steps, and my game still doesn't work, it just gives me the same "exit code 1" thing. ANy other suggestions? (It may be trouble with me using 1.6.2 :/)
Im on Mac and i am having the same problem and it is really irritating but point is if you're on Mac you can give this a try. http://help.mojang.c...raft-is-damaged
I have not tried this but if it does work let me know because it is too late at night for me to do this lol
Hope this begins to work!
The answer is simple; Delete your .minecraft folder but keep important things like resource packs and saves. Mods that aren't installed correctly may be the case.
Problem
The Minecraft Launcher will not launch Minecraft.
