Hello this morning I was playing Minecraft on my brand new good gaming desktop running Minecraft at 350 FPS but all of the sudden it dropped to 0 FPS and it stopped responding! I tried restating the game but it didn't help. If anyone knows whats going on please let me know. Thanks.
my specs are:processer; Intel® Core™ i7-3770 CPU @ 3.40 GHz. Installed memory (RAM): 8.00 GB. System type:64-bit Operating System, x64-based processor. Windows 8. I just recently downloaded Java last Friday from the website so I am pretty sure it should be the latest version. Thank you for your help.
Thank you for your help I will do that when I get to my computer I am currently on Christmas vacation and I will be back on the 6th so expect a report then and again thank you for your help.
I specifically downloaded Java 64 bit but Minecraft still suffered these FPS drops if it is windows 8 driver issues how could I tell that is the problem because more than anything I just want to know the problem. Thanks for your help again.
Update: I'm sorry but forget my last comment I downloaded the Java 64 bit INSTALLER but didn't use the installer so I deleted Java 32 bit and ran the installer for the 64 bit and Minecraft works and runs perfectly again. Thank you so much for your help I would have never fixed this if you weren't there so thank you.
Go download Java 64 bit (it can exist alongside the 32 bit version, so don't worry) ... try that and report back.
Also, expect video card driver issues with Windows 8; that is already being reported here and elsewhere.
