Okay, I just bought a new computer. Everything runs great except for Minecraft. When I open a world my character bounces up and down and can't move, meanwhile everything is on fire. Here's a video demonstrating what's going on:
Pardon the quality and choppiness, it's not my computer, it's the recorder.
How can I fix this? I tried wiping all my Minecraft files and redownloading, nothing changed. It happens without the texture pack installed, btw.
It might be one of this sticky keys things maybe? try disabling that.
Also make sure your keyboard isn't sticky around it's keys try cleaning it by cleaning the edges.
Maybe update the drivers on your keyboard?
Also there is a bug in the game where sometimes you jump on a block but then it renders you not on the block and teleports you back from the jump and repeats it over and over.
OK my MInecraft is doing the same thing. Everything isn't on fire, but I can't move, my mouse works, but the keyboard is unresponsive and I'm bouncing up and down.
I have a 64-bit Java but it's telling me it doesn't recognize it when I set the view span to "far" and that it's only recognizing the 32-bit Java.
I have an HP laptop, Intel i3-2330 CPU and Intel HD graphics card. (Which, I realize isn't optimal, but I've read where you CAN run Minecraft with that configuration.)
I haven't seen anything else in the forums that address this problem in particular. I just purchased the game last night and haven't had any luck running it.
So I found a fix, wow, what a weird way to start a game.
So, I noticed that I could move my mouse around so I started digging. I dug the spot underneath where I was standing, and that got me free from the spot where I was spawned. Apparently I was spawned in a weird place and couldn't move until I broke free of it. I feel like a tard!!! :-(
Check your options. For me, the issue was the fact that I normally use the arrow keys to move, but it was set up with aswd for movement when I downloaded it to a new computer. That may be the issue if the block thing does not help.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

For the fire: You need to use mcpatcher like desribed in the texturepack post
For bobbing: dig the block under you, it will fix it
