I have paid for minecraft and have been using for around a year. I updated to 1.4. But today i tried to get on a server. It was 1.3 so i downgraded my minecraft. When i went to open it, it was stuck at Done loading. I have tried to empty the .minecraft folder, re-installed it many times with no success. Is there anything i could do to fix this problem?? I've tried re-updating it to 1.4. Im on a Mac as well. Please help.

1) If your a gamer, I HIGHLY advise getting a PC.
2) Select "Force update" in the launcher and see if that works.
3) Try clearing your java cache. I dunno where it would be on a Mac, but on a PC its in "C:\Users\your-user\Appdata\LocalLow\Sun\Java\Deployment\"

Yeah, that happened to me to. It's just stuck there. I know this might be long ago, but I do need help. This sounds like a response to mister21, but it's not. Also, I did try forcing the update.

When I force update it, it gets stuck on the MOJANG screen.
This will work for windows users, mac/linux users could try using this code from terminal.
If you guys are still having issues with minecraft, try this launching minecraft with this code (Start -> cmd.exe) or create a batch file, if you want to do cmd.exe you need to copy-paste the first line and then the rest. Optional: replace "username" with any username you'd like.
cd %appdata%\.minecraft\bin
java -cp minecraft.jar;lwjgl.jar;lwjgl_util.jar -Djava.library.path="natives" net.minecraft.client.Minecraft -u=username
Well,im trying to do this to downgrade to 1.4.7 to try and play on my favorite server again. But in my minecraft bin theres a hole bunch of crap that comes back whenever I force update. Could someone post a picture of a normal vinilla minecraft bin folder so I know what to delete?

Using Force Update worked for me when I was having the same problem.
