Okay so I haven't played MC in a long while (a month or so) and boy was I surprised when I saw this on startup:
So yeah, the positioning of textures seems off. No idea as to what's happened. Tried to force update and my Java is up to date. The problem persists in game- I can partially see through masses of blocks (such as a tree or a hill). So far it's purely been visual, no sounds bugged or anything, and the launcher itself looks fine..
Yes, I've both forced update AND reinstalled (in case they were different). I've had no mods for a while now, and reinstalling should have removed whatever traces were left, right?
In singleplayer I'm unable to see most terrain apart from generated and built structures (caves etc). In multiplayer I can only see through the cracks on the block textures (eg I can see the sky from deep underground).
Here's a screenie from my superflat world AFTER reinstall (it actually seemed better before):
Also might be worth noting that as opposed to the usual mojang logo with all-white BG it displays only a weirdass square:
Altering the window size affected nothing :/ I am rather puzzled.. Thinking it might be my Java. I'd delayed updating it as I heard of security issues- it's up to date now but I can't help but wonder..
