Hello everyone, I've run into some trouble, and can't figure out what's wrong with my system. I recently built this system and of course installed minecraft shortly after. It was working fine but about a week ago, the .exe stopped opening. I did some searching on these forums and online, and tried all of the suggestions. I've deleted the .bin folder, the entire minecraft folder, downloaded a new .exe, uninstalled java(32 and 64) editions and reinstalled several times and none of this has worked.
When the problem first started happening, I removed and installed java, restarted, and it seemed to fix it. But the next day, it wouldn't open again. Doing the same thing hasn't worked.
I'm not sure if it's related, but my computer has also started to freeze occasionally. Once every few days, it seems to be that while I'm in my Zune software, the computer will freeze. Nothing is able to get out of this except hitting the power button on my tower.
Anyone able to help?
The system is a Win7 64.

Your card most likely has a Cool&Quiet function [to my knowledge all HD series do], disable that, and increase idle-state core and memory clocks of your 7850 by at least 40% (start at 40%, and slowly walk your way forwards/backwards[5% increments] until you hit the lowest stable clock you can find - my CFX7870's happened to be 40%) and you may or may-not see the freezing issue with Zune (and other applications) clear up.

Care to explain the OCing in a more step by step way? I've got the Asus GPU Tweak utility up, and the only setting that I can play with are GPU Clock, CPU Voltage, Memory Clock, Fan Speed, and Power Target. I'm guessing it's the GPU Clock/Memory Clock you're talking about. Right now they're at 0860 and 4800 respectively. What should I bump them to? And how do I know if they're "stable"?

When I ran that script, it opened up the window to login that would normally come up with the executable.
Hmm looks like your are missing the minecraft files.
What I recommend to do is disable the virusscanner, it can block the connection.
Although the info from FoxRacer30 is really interesting, it is not related to this issue. But sure a thing to keep in mind
(didn't know it yet).
The files were missing due to me deleting them and then not being able to get them back because I couldn't start the launcher. When it came up after running the script, I logged in and they downloaded, and I ran it agian. Here's the output from the second test.

It is unrelated, however It's already beyond me how to help him, i've not ever seen it fail after so many attempts... so I figured I would help how I could
since I'm incredibly lazy, i'll link you to a quick how-to http://www.tomshardw...overed#t2600634
this may or may not be outdated, unfortunately I can no longer check. the CCC has not worked for me since 12.4
But what I recommend to try to do, is reinstall java. Complete remove it first and install it from http://www.java.com
Also make sure to install the 64bit version again.
Deleted and then reinstalled both versions again, and it still wasn't working. But an interesting thing that I found, is that if I right click, and choose "Run with Virtu", it will open. Virtu is some sort of FPS optimization that came with my video card. There are three options that are in that section though, one is "Always run with Virtu" and the other is "Add to Virtu's Application List". If I choose either of those, my computer takes a dump and I get a "Windows Explorer has stopped responding" error and it makes my desktop flash and then the icons are all back to the very left of the screen.
Do you have any experience with this program? Or why it and your script are able to open the launcher, but me manually clicking it wont?
Well the same thing is happening to me... my computer is brand new and I have been having major problems with minecraft! The first one was the missingtex error... now it just wont open anymore. I turned it on and minecraft and tekkit just wouldnt open up at all! Its just very annoying that minecraft keeps on breaking!
I am having the same problem, I was playing perfectly fine the day before and I tried playing the next day and nothing.... I have tried everything that was listed in the forum and others I have found... has anybody found how to fix this?
When the problem first started happening, I removed and installed java, restarted, and it seemed to fix it. But the next day, it wouldn't open again. Doing the same thing hasn't worked.
