i've uploaded a self-made skin to the minecraft.net website to look unique.
But now i miss a "Delete skin"-Button on the website.
The main problem is within the skin selection algorithm.
If you are in online mode with your minecraft and start playing minecraft phones to the http://s3.amazonaws.com/MinecraftSkins/ URL to look for your skin. (whether you play multiplayer or singleplayer)
And wonder: it will find after an upload every time a skin and will use this ingame.
Everyone who is using a texturepack with higher resolution as the original will never see users that won't have a skin uploaded in the texturepack skin.
Consequence: I will NEVER ever (for now) see myself an a server in high resolution.
If read many threads in this forum about this problem (dated since 2010) and there isn't still a solution?
For everyone who try to explain that it is possible hasn't understood the problem
So what's about Mojang? I searched for a contact formula or e-mail address on the official website of mojang, but there is no direct contact possible?!
The community has to wait for ... ? Notch ? Mojang ? more people with the same problem ?! Workarounds ?
I don't quite understand what you've done. Are you saying you did not obey this directive: "Make sure you keep the same image dimensions as the original." ? It helps to follow the rules.
In any case, to go back to the default skin, you can click the link to download the reference skin, and then upload it as your skin.

Yeah, I've tried this one and I've although tried to upload the char.png from a fresh downloaded minecraft.jar.
All these methods are leading back to the problem, that the algorithm detects that there is an uploaded skin.
My problem is not getting back the default skin, my problem is getting rid of the uploaded skin - because, once again:
"I'm not able to see my character in a high resolution texturepack because I can't delete this pic."
Minecraft has to say: "Hey it's the default skin, I will look after a texturepack and load this on" - but it doesn't
- There is no function in there

The original poster was perhaps not clear enough. (It looks as though English is a second language?) I will try to explain it as I am seeing the same problem:
When you first get the game, you have *no* uploaded skins, so the game defaults to the char.png file inside Minecraft's built-in texture pack for the skin.
You can change this by loading in a *new* texture pack that contains a custom char.png file. This allows for higher resolution char.png files via modding to allow higher resolution texture packs.
The problem arises once you upload a custom skin to Mojang.net. Once you do this, Minecraft will *always* look for a skin from Minecraft.net and will *ignore* texture pack skin files.
Since the original poster (and myself as I said I have the same issue) used a higher resolution char.png file inside a texture pack, we *cannot* upload them to Minecraft.net, and since there is no way to *remove* skins from Minecraft.net, we are stuck with whatever low-resolution skin we uploaded as there is no way to tell Minecraft to take the skin inside the texture pack instead over the one from Minecraft.net.

#1 dafuq is your problem exactly?
#2 You're trying to contact mojang about unofficial HD skins?
You realize hd skins are from an outside source and therefore not in their jurisdiction of helping you?

You apparently did not understand what I was trying to say. He and I are not asking Mojang for help with an HD texture, but asking for a way to REMOVE a *valid* uploaded skin from their website so the game will stop looking to load it, and will load it from texture packs instead. Whether that is a custom texture pack is not relevant to the issue.
There is no need to be hostile about using mods, even though this is not a mod at all, but a texutre pack problem. Even so, Minecraft has always been marketted as a mod-friendly game. I am having the same problem and I am not asking Mojang to help with technical support, but instead stop the website from meddling with my texture pack.
Before I knew of higher resolution character files, I uploaded some skins through the website. To use a higher resolution skin, you have to change the default "char.png" mob skin in the minecraft.jar, which I have since done. However, the website still insists priority and because there is currently no way to stop it from adjusting my skin to whatever file was uploaded to minecraft.net, I cannot use these custom skins. I actually have to start the game up offline, with my wired internet connection unplugged and then manually plug my T-3 cable back in so that I may ignore the website's meddling. What we are asking for is for an option to turn off the website's "change skin" function.
not to sound like a b here but:
people seriously this is simple.
Some of you are fighting for some thing so simple. What you do is: take a skin, any (Steve is knowned as default) and upload it to Minecraft. Then here you guys are flipping and tripping on every one on such simpleness: you change it your self. Here I'll even supply a link to steve: http://minecraft.net/images/char.png
zomg so hard!!11!!ONE!!11
Just cause there is no "delete this skin" button, I think MC made it simple enough "To create your own skin, first download the reference skin. That’s your template for creation. Then edit it with your favourite image editing tool." Honestly the referance is the default.

You do not understand the problem. If you use a texture pack, an hd one, and you do not have a skin, minecraft will use the texturepack's image for the default skin, which will be HD. Basically, he does not want a default skin, he wants no skin.
this person does not want the default skin, but no skin so the game will use a texture packs texture (if you want an HD skin perhaps?)
If you upload "Steve" then it will not know the difference and use it as your skin, it will NOT be replaced by a texture packs skin as it is an actual skin (the client isn't smart enough to tell the difference between a default (from minecraft.net) skin and actual skins)
this person wants to remove his/her skin from minecraft.net so the cleint will use the texture packs skin, NOT the one from minecraft.net
p.s i will add/edit if nessesary
p.s.s dude, i think the voxel people release a patcher that can use HD skins, upload it to them and the mod will prioritize (HD, reg def. default)
Yeah, I've had the same problem. I want a skin that will change ONLINE with server texture packs or my own texture packs. I did notice in the new 1.6 launcher it mentions "using uploaded skin", maybe there is a way to turn this off?

The idea of sending a blank field for the skin over the skinuploader does NOT deleting the skin, it does nothing ...
