Hello Ethan! This thread really looks polished like you said, but I was hoping you could give me some credit for the port forwarding part of the thread like you said. Thanks!

Hello BewareTheShadow! If this port forwarding guide doesn't work, try this. I found a guide for port forwarding made for Verizon. All credit goes to Verizon for creating this tutorial, not me! I just wanted to help you out.
Ok gotcha thanks those are good guides. I however do not have a router as my provider (AT&T) just provides a gateway. I am in the settings where I port forward and there are no boxes for an IP its just 2 boxes one being Global Port Range and the other is Base Host Port. Would I put my computer's IP in the IP passthrough section?
Hello, I want to set up a simple server for my friends and I to play on. I followed some other tutorials and always got stuck when it said it couldn't access the .jar file, which didn't happen here. However, when I try to run the .bat file, I am told that there is no application set to run it.
I'm on a Macbook Air. I wrote the .bat document in TextEdit, which doesn't have an option labeled "Save as Type", only "Plain Text encoding". There is no "All Files" there. I checked Pages (Mac's version of Word) too and that doesn't have it either. Is that the issue? How do I fix it? Do I have to do something differently for my Mac?
I'm not so good with Mac OS X but I do know that batch files do not run on the operating system themselves. I found something here which is how to setup a craftbukkit server on a Mac which I know you don't want, just change the "craftbukkit" portion to "minecraft_server". Hope this helps in some ways.
Hello jerkyjohn, I have a link to an AT&T guide on how to portforward. Although I do not know that it works (because my provider is not AT&T), just try it!
