hi. i've started getting some strange form of corruption of my server and we haven't been able to figure out why or how to resolve it and now i am seeking help. basically we've started seeing really odd block formations, new blocks where none should be or just missing blocks in general. we have noted that whatever it is seems to be progressive and is spreading. i attached a couple pictures below so you could see what its doing all of a sudden. these are only average locations. there is some really bad spots in other locations.
is there any way to fix this? what would cause it? i cant begin to express how much i don't want to lose the world. we all ready have the iron titan and quad which farm's up and running as well as a massive zombie pigmen xp farm. too say nothing of all out own personal builds. if you need more information i will happily provide it. thanks for your time.

ok. so im not very good with such things but i found some of the error's files that i can copy paste from the dump file. i know no resource packs have changed. we had started messing around with getting the mods that come with the server up, or at least some of the useful ones involving commands but the corruption pre-dates any of that. were using bukit 1.8, sometimes the server actually crashes and restarts as well. only mod installed is a chatmanager. ill post more when the various warning files pop up.

Seriously look at your server resources. Check what your ram settings are and that the host is not 'over sold' which could cause numerous performance issues like lag, rendering etc.
easy test would be to download world and replicate server on your PC. If you have FTP access, pull down your server directory and test run on a local server.
My guess would be that your host could be the likely issue.
If you are running a Spigot .jar, have a look at the timings report that can be generated on the host machine. This will give some excellent feedback on server environment, possible 'leaking' plugins etc.
we are running craftbukit 1.8 (spigot build) with a craftbukit.jar as far as plugins are concerned we have very few actually running but how would one actually "leak"
and edit for stupidity. yes we have seen some timing issues. the report we see is this.
[Server] WARN Can't keep up! Did the system time change, or is the server overloaded? Running 2846ms behind, skipping 56 tick(s)
and of course the server is running at 100% when it should be running at roughly half that based off our own tests.
small update: corruption seems to spread to all chunks that have been generated and been build in for longer periods of time.
I've installed a plugin to map the current world (dynmap) so you can look at it in a browser, if you check the underground cave systems you can see the + shape pattern repeating on for hundreds of blocks all around the world spawn, quad witch huts, and other areas.
Edit: Just had a thought about our first server generation, it was on a private machine that was running minecraft 1.8.3 and now we are running craftbukkit/spigot 1.8, could the downgrade be the source of this issue?
I don't think so since all 1.8 client/server versions are cross compatible. This could be as mentioned before plugin leaking. Try downloading the entire server and running it locally to see if the problem persists, if not, it is your host.
Ok, so your timings report, although maybe not ideal should be able to give you a playable experience. Dynmap shows a fully rendered world where explored, so chunks have been generated and loaded on the server, as Dynmap can't generate terrain from seed.
The under ground patterns are strange, aside from the visible straight mining activity, the symmetrical shapes appear to be chunk size - 16 x 16 (could be under correction).
There should be no issue with a world generated with 1.8.3 jar and then run on 1.8, my recent server was done this way and no issues. (Needed to drop Spigot version to use VoxelSniper properly).
Did you do any custom seeds when generated, when tested on a local machine, and worked 100%, did you have a look at the underground 'structures' if they exist as Dynmap shows?
The main issue here is the this world has loaded properly on two separate local machines, but remains problematic on host, and you don't seem to be running any plugins from 'other' sources. So to check host environment, try disabling all plugins. (Just change .jar extension to .rem for testing, change back one at a time to problem shoot after skeleton start). If server starts and renders world properly, proceed with reloading one plugin at a time. Until issue is replicated.
The lagg isn't an issue in my eyes at this moment, the underground pattern is. It is very visable when you go and look for it, it is in every area where have been building. it is the same pattern over and over again, like you said, it looks to be chunk sized.
The original generation was done on a server run on a private machine with all normal settings and later exported to the multicraft.
The original server had only 1 folder though, "world", I had to split these into 2 folders for the world & world_nether
I did this by exporting the files found in the DIM1 & DIM-1 folders of the world folders.
Could the corruption have started here?
When you freshly generate the seed on the server (and delete the old world) you can see no corruption what so ever.

Any errors in your server logs?
Also need to know if you have changed any client side stuff, like resource packs or mods as well as any hardware changes.
These images tend to show something on the client side is amiss, maybe not on the server itself.

What is the server's specs, or are you hosting it on your computer?

i use ggservers as a host with 3 gig of ram. multicraft is the operating UI.
Hmm... Could you maybe PM me a dropbox link to a copy of the world?

I've send you a link with the world download, I'm also an admin on the server.
I looked at it and found no issues - how good is your Internet, and what are your computer's specs?

@sour. Are you using any mods? When did you notice the corruption? Mayby we can help each other out with this.
Either way I think I'm switching away from ggservers.(after I email them about our issues)

I've used chunkster on the world file but it came out clean, no errors found.
So could this be a GGServers issue then?
We have run the wolrd on a server on a local machine and it used 1-1.5GB of ram, so 50% of what it is using now.
My guess would be that your host could be the likely issue.
