I am unable to Op myself on my own server and i have already tried the following: i have typed it into my command prompt and says Opped LAForsman <---- my ingame name yet i go ingame and type /gamemode c and it says i have no permissions and to contact the server administrators and i also tried putting my name in the text document and that didnt work either and i do not have any plug-ins installed yet so i am very confused as to why this wont work

You need to have a permissions plugin. I recommend groupmanager. Do these commands in console once you get it

/mangaddp Owner *
/manuadd LAForsman Owner

ok so do i need essentials in order to run groupmanager?

i got groupmanager and added myself to the group owner but im still having the same problem

the whole point of this is i cant op myself did you read the name of the thread?

go into ops.json and enter your name exactly how it is spelled. reload server and that should work.

i solved the problem i just remade the server
