1. Open up your web browser
2. Go into your URL bar and type "minecraft.net"
3. Click Download
4. Download minecraft_server.exe, for mac, .jar
5. Create a new folder anywhere
6. Place the minecraft_server.exe in it.
7. Double-Click minecraft_server.exe
8. Let it load up the files until it says "Done!"
9. When it ays "Done" type in "stop" and it enter
10. Wait for it to stop.
11. Go in the server.properties file and customize it to your likings
12. Go in the op.txt and put your username in it, and if your playing with a friend, type his name too
13. The rest is pretty obvious.
14. When done editing, run minecraft_server.exe and let the files load.
15. There you go! You now got a "LAN" Server. Whoever is using your internet connection can join your server, if you want people not using your internet connection but still join. Go to the "Port-fowarding" Spoiler below.
16. NOTE, when you want your friends to join. You have to run minecraft_server.exe. Or they won't be able to connect.
Port-fowarding:
1. Click Start
2. Type in "cmd.exe" and hit enter
3. You will now get a black window with some text, go ahead and type in "ipconfig" and click enter.
4. Alot of will pop up. This stuff is for YOUR EYES ONLY, unless the internet connection your using is not yours. If it's not, don't bother port-fowarding. You will get caught. Ask for permission first.
5. Look for something saying "IPv4" and beside that will be numbers, for example. "192.168.0.1" copy that down on notepad and keep it. It is very important.

8. You will end up on a page. Every page is different depending on which company you use for your internet connection. There is 2 boxes, username and password. If you have a router look on your router and it might have a sticker on it. It will say the Password and Username. Type those in and hit enter. Then find a button that might say "Applications and Gaming" or something similar. Click it and there will be alot of boxes. Plus 4 tabs. Your on tab 1, click tab 2. Then It will say stuff. Where is says Start or End or Port, put 25565. Where it says IP address put the numbers you got. Where it says UDP and the other one click BOTH. Check Enabled. And click save settings.
9. Thats it. If this doesn't work. Go on a tutorial or get a auto-matic port program.
10. Your friends can't join yet. Go to the spoiler below.
How can my friends connect:
You know those numbers you have there? It's called a IP Address. Well thats your static IP. Don't give that to your friends. What you need to give them is your external IP which you can find here. Copy those numbers and make sure minecraft_server.exe is open and says "Done!" Then give the numbers to your friends and they should be able to join.
Bukkit Server:
Setting it up:
1. Open up your web browser
2. Go into your URL bar and type "bukkit.org"
3. There will be posts from EvilSeph. Click the newest one and download the .jar file
4. Make a new folder and put the craftbukkit.jar in it
5. Open notepad and leave it empty. Click Save as and where it says .txt there is a dropdown, click the dropdown and click All Files, then change the name of the file from .txt to .bat.
6. Put the file in the folder and name it "run"
7. Right-click on the file and click Edit.
8. Paste this in it and click Save:
java -Xms1024M -Xmx1024M -jar (THE NAME OF THE .JAR FILE).jar -o true
PAUSE
9. Where it says (THE NAME OF THE .JAR FILE) is where you put the exact name of the file you just downloaded.
10. Double-click on thee "run" file
11. Files will load. When it's done. It will says "Done!"
12. Type in "stop" and wait for it to say "Press any key to continue"
13. Press ENTER (Or any key, I just don't want the any key joke on this post)
14. Open the server.properties file and edit it to your liking's.
15. You're still on bukkit.org, right? Well click the plugins tab and download any plugin you like. (Essentials is recommended)
16. If you downloaded a plugin. It is a .jar file. Drag the .jar file right into your plugins folder. But for WorldEdit you open it and drag WorldEdit.jar into the plugins folder.
17. Open op.txt and put your name in it, if a friend is playing with you. Put their name too.
18. Run the server.
19. There you go! You got LAN server. People using your internet connection can connect. But if someone doesn't us your connection. Then follow the spoiler below.
