Waylen, their problem isn't that, Matt hasn't even downloaded a server or portforwarded. geod has not portforwarded. It has nothing to do with their firewall. If matt has downloaded the server and portforwarded, he should not have any problems, if he does he can come back to this topic to post something. Geod needs to portforward his server, if he has done that it is his firewall, or he is using the wrong IP address.
I have the same error except I can't even join my own server
Have you put the LAN IP in server.properties? That's what I did and it worked for a while for me, but then now its glitched and even I can't connect But try my suggestion hope it works
Try seeing if you have the latest version of craftbukkit.
Next thing (I'm probably full of baloney on this)
Go to control panel (Be in your admin account.)
Search up windows firewall and click on allow a program through windows firewall. Click change settings and click allow another program through firewall and allow minecraft.
Also allow your Minecraftserver.exe or your run.bat. Check in public for both.

I am having the same problem, a couple months ago I had a working server and one day it just stopped. I tried everything and eventually deleted it. I tried to start it now, but I can't let other people connect (Timed Out), and the port is closed. Please everyone stop repeating the same information/help and stop telling him to re-portforward. I know what he is going through and it isn't the portforwarding. I will post here when i fix mine, but in the meantime, try letting the port through your firewall?
Hi,im Minecrafter and youtuber cacj131 with a solution for you!First of all:
Go to: portforward.com
Find your router and then the program to want to open the port to.
Then follow the directions it gives.
If this doesn't work,go to windows firewall>advanced settings>inbound rules>add rule>Then follow the directions>Add port 25565 as tcp>Finish>Add Rule>then follow the directions>Add port 25565 as udp>Finish
Now once you have done that, don't close advanced settings yet,you can try it now.If it doesn't work, you will have to enable javaw and java(Yes,javaw and java) port because minecraft uses javaw and java and javaw and java have there own firewall so it is extremely secure, then you can try again.to find out how to do this go to:
Please help

It's true, though many don't believe it.
