So I am trying to make a modded minecraft server for my friend and I to play in.

The main problem was that the mods folder doesnt appear.

More specifically speaking, nothing happens when I press the universal.jar(forge-1.12.2-14.23.5.2838-universal.jar)
So far...I've
1. Downloaded forge installer(not universal)
2. Installed Server on my server folder i've created

3. Ran minecraft_server.1.12.2.jar
4. Set eula to true
5. Ran minecraft_server.1.12.2.jar once again

6. No mods folder yet. Try to run forge-1.12.2-14.23.5.2838-universal.jar
7. No mods folder yet. Very confused. Try to run forge-1.12.2-14.23.5.2838-universal.jar

8. No mods folder yet. Very confused. Try to run forge-1.12.2-14.23.5.2838-universal.jar

9. Try to just start server without mods>

10. Can't go on world/basically not there
11. Stop the server
12. I am now here

Plez help. Is there a reason why the mods folder won't appear/ forge-1.12.2-14.23.5.2838-universal.jar won't run? Am I missing something? Thanks

Update: The server runs but its just vanilla minecraft with no mods

1. Update forge.

2. Post the contents of your startup script.
