Hi fellow crafters, I've been having some trouble with my new Minecraft Server, and setting it up with my domain. The domain name is supposed to be minecraft.domainname.com, but domainname.com would work as well. However, I would like it to be limited to the minecraft subdomain, any way to do this? NOTE: the domain name and subdomain are hosted on the same PC.
Who is providing you with your domain name? That company may be able to resolve different subdomains to different ports - they usually can.
Or if they can't, you might be able to use a service such as zoneedit instead.
I'm currently using godaddy with a @ record for my subdomain. I think the problem is that minecraft just scans my ip in general, so the subdomain doesn't matter, since 25565 is open on anything with domainname.com
