EDIT: New problem. "Failed to verify user" when I try connecting to the server from home or any other outside network. I am able to login via LAN but not with Hamachi. I already tried logging in and out, setting the online mode to false, and turning off firewalls/giving Hamachi permissions. (Maybe I'm missing a step somewhere here.)
TLDR: I want to be able to connect from my home computer to my MC server that is hosted on my work computer without having to access router settings because I can't get into it.
Hi there,
I work as an IT and I was able to get my hands on a server computer. I am able to start up the MC server, I just can't connect to it over the internet. I can't access the router settings so I can't make any changes there.
Is there a work around or another solution that will give me access from my home computer to connect to my MC server being hosted on my work computer?
no. simply download LogMeIn Hamachi. create an account on both computers. download the server files from minecraft. open the server application. once it is finished the intall, type close in the bottom text box. go into the server files. click on the settings or commands. the where it says ip. you want to copy and paste the ip address that the hamachi gave you.
Hmm, I figured it out. I managed to get Hamachi to work, it had something to do with the firewall. I will have to look for it. Any suggestions on what it is?

Yes I know all of that. It's just a temporary solution for my friends and I to work on the server until I can get it moved out. Is there any solution to the failed to verify user I'm getting? I already tried putting online-mode false and relogging my account. I'm stuck now :'(
That's what I do. I don't want to play through the remote desktop connection though. I have tried even on the same network(at work) and I still get the same issue. I've tried contacting Mojang support but I have yet to get a response and it's been 4 days. :'(

Lol, he knows very well what I am doing. He's the one who gave me the server. I work on it when I have free time at home. I use remote desktop connection to work on it from home. But yes, I don't know if there is a solution to this on my work network. I might need to just move this ultra heavy server over to my place. But if there is a possible solution, I would like to know about it.

No I'm 99% sure there's no work around. You're going to need to route the traffic (i.e. port forward) otherwise it won't work.
If your work has VPN access, you could VPN into that, then connect to your server locally, but thats not really ideal.

I tried Hamachi and still didn't work.
Any other solution that might be able to work?

Why don't you RDC (Remote DeskTopConnection) into the server like I do on my dedicated host.

Maybe its a sign not to do it at work before your boss finds out what you're doing with there server.
