So, I have been trying to set up a Sponge Forge server, but any of the plugins worked. I was about to ask about it in the forums, but I decided I didn´t really like Sponge for a single reason;
It is not avaible for 1.7.10
I searched how to make a modded server with plugins using Cauldron, but seems like it is dead (No longer exists).
Seems like there´s no way to make a server with mods and plugins without Cauldron or Sponge.
I have been also searching for forge alternatives to plugins, but they´re all outdated
I don´t think it´s possible... But can you make a 1.7.10 modded server with plugins but without Cauldron?
For the past few years, I've never found a way around using Cauldron. But first, Cauldron is not a plugin, it's more like CraftBukkit and Minecraft Forge merged into one. Cauldron (formerly known as MCPC+) as far as I know is the only way to use plugins and mods, and fairly easy to install. Other clients are not required to install it as it is server side, and is only needed to be installed into the server. Clients can just run Minecraft Forge themselves. The only other way around installing Cauldron is by finding plugins to take place of the mods or vice versa. If someone could please fact check this and reply that would be greatly appreciated as I have not actually used Cauldron since 1.6.4.
It seems like KCauldron is just a remake, for larger servers. I didn't look too much into it however. Glad you found it however, this may help for future reference

This is the only place I could find that had downloads available for cauldron: https://mcadmin.net/cauldron
I have previously used the website for downloading Spigot without using the Buildtools.jar
Also google KCauldron
