I am trying to host a vanilla server that is 1.9. So I can play survival with my friend on a different network. I can connect to the server on a different computer in the same network using a private IPv4 address but not a public IPv4 address. I've tried port forwarding but it's not working (or I'm not doing it right). I'm using a Motorola/Arris Modem/Router also attempting the same stuff on a Netgear Modem with a Belkin Router. I've never gotten this to work before. Please help!
