So my friend and I are trying to make a server, but make it in Beta 1.7.3. We both know how to downgrade our own clients, but we don't know how to get a legit 1.7.3 Server. I know it's possible because Chimneyswift11, Luclin, and Paulsoaresjr did it before Minecon 2011 on a series that was gonna be called "Blast from the Past" I really need help with this, so if you know or if you know anyone that would help, please comment and help. I've really been wanting to do this.
The problem with a Beta 1.7.3 server is that the people who play that server will also have to have a Beta 1.7.3 client. But, if you want to go with it, just look in dl.bukkit.org, and go to Alternate Versions.

Is there a way to get a vanilla version? Also, I have Java 6 because of some issues with my computer, and my friend has Java 7. Will I have to update or will they have to downgrade Java? I can join their server just fine when we are up to date on Minecraft. And when I go to alternate versions, after 1.8, it just goes 0.0.1. How do I know what one to use?
