I know what it means and the usual fixes but they are not currently working. says server failed to bind to port, 25565, perhaps a server is already running, yadda yadda yadda. anyone else haveing the same problem? this is a bukkit server.

Exit the Server, Go into Task Manager, Stop all Instances of Java under the Processes tab, start the server, should work.
You could also restart your computer but the above method is less of a hassle, you were not the only one with this problem, trust me.

allright, tried both methods, neither worked. the only instance of java in the process menu was the update scheduler, closed it anyways, removed the ip, but i need it because of the program im using to forward ports (simple port forward) never had an issue with it before. not sure if i mentioned it already or not but i am running the apparently unstable bukkit 1.0 if that has anything to do with it.
manually forward the port by logging into your router rather than using a program.
the server-ip line should be blank except for special circumstances like lan servers eg home only or hamachi.
still no joy, how do you personally manually do it,i already know to input the ip in the web address bar
thats actually the first thing i tried, they dont have my router *puts on hipster glasses* but in all seriusness, its retarded, its just a normal router that says speed booster on it, but for whatever reason doesnt work with any of the routers on file(and yes i tried them all) thats why i went with the program.
the basic way to do it for most router is
1. use ipconfig/all, look for default gateway, and type that address into a browser.
2. login to router, try admin and password, or admin and blank(as in nothing), or password maybe on back of router.
3. look for port forward tab/page.
4. enter a name of application, port number, and the local ip of the machine using it, normally last digits (found with ipconfig, its the ip4v address)
5. tick check box if their is one.
6. save settings.
7. play minecraft
alright, so i've now done manual forward, application forwarding, and all in between. whenever i try to do it manually, i cannot make it so it doesnt have a specific IP i would need to put in the settings, and any specific IP results in the same failed to bind message. WTF IS GOING ON HERE
