To have a outside user join your hamichi network open hamichi and under Network there is a Create a New Network option and click it. Set a Network Name and a Password. Get your friend or someone to join your hamichi network and then give them the internal IP of the computer that you host the server on. Open command prompt and type 'ipconfig' and across from the IPv4 Address is your internal IP. Give this to your freinds after they've connected to your hamichi.
Better idea, don't use hamachi. Hamachi adds a layer of complexity that is not worth it. Port forwarding is as easy to setup as hamachi, I don't have a clue why so many people have problems with it.

Port forwarding requires you have access to your router (aka you need to know the login/password), with hamachi you don't need to access it.
