I am currently running Ubuntu Server 10.10 on my minecraft server. I have physical access and it doesn't run 24/7. Normally what I do is power it up, wait a few minutes and then ssh in and launch McMyAdmin in screen, then close putty. When I am done, I ssh back in, pick up the screen session, and close everything down. I don't currently have a keyboard/mouse/monitor hooked to it, because I can do everything remotely with PuTTy and WinSCP.
Now for the meat and potatoes of my post. Is there a way to write a script so that McMyAdmin automatically starts when the server powers up, thereby eliminating a couple steps from the start up process?

im a noob.... how do i edit JSON files? i threw some jars in the plyugin folder, and it has a config.json, but when i open it in notepad, it looks like a mess, quick help?
I think json files are kind of like xml files in a sense that they are tags and data exists inside of these tags that the plugin or application would then use to configure/derive data from.
I remember using something like this program to edit some json strings awhile back for one of my computer science classes at university.
Ok, I have to be doing something wrong here. I hooked a monitor and KB up before starting so I could keep an eye on things.
I wrote the script with screen and then path/scriptname.sh to launch MyMcAdmin and it got to the part of screen where it says press enter to continue, and then it just kind of hung there. Pressing enter brings me to a blank screen with # in the place of the usual command prompt. Commands do not work, and browsing to the McMyAdmin address does not work. So I took screen out and attempted to just run /path/start.sh (the McMyAdmin start script) and it goes to the log in prompt, and from I can tell the script doesn't run

See what we are building here: http://zombiecraft.servebeer.com
Make your script executable: sudo chmod +x /etc/init.d/mclaunch.sh
Update bootup script: sudo update-rc.d mclaunch.sh defaults
Reboot
This should work
