I have never had a problem with despawning animals before because I never make my pens more than 7x7 blocks, however, my llamas have despawned.
I decided to move them (4 llamas) from their old pen (5x5) to a new pen (5x6). After I went into my home and came back, 2 of the llamas had despawned. I read once someone saying that distance may lead to despawning (dunno if that's a thing), so I lead the remaining two llamas back into the old pen and went to take down the new pen. I came back (to the old pen) and saw that yet another llama had despawned, leaving me only one left.
I have horses out farther than what the new pen was, so I'm curious as to how these llamas despawned, especially when I put them back in the old pen.
Am I missing something here? No pens were left open and all llamas were tamed.
