So my little brother called me with a problem he's having with Minecraft on the XB1. He's been playing in a single player survival world he created for a couple months now. When he started it back up today, none of the blocks he breaks drop that particular block. Even things like torches no longer drop when broken. He's using the correct tools and the game settings are on default. He uses an iron pick axe on cobblestone, andesite, etc. blocks and none of them drop anything. He's able to drop things from his inventory and pick them back up, but that's it.
So i instructed him to do the basics whenever something goes wrong in any game: Quit the game, close it, restart the console, open the game back up and load his save to see if that fixed it. Nothing. Blocks still wont drop for him.
I also had him check to see if there was an update for the XB1 or Minecraft itself. Both are up to date.
I figured this was going to be an easy fix and that there'd be a ton of search results on Google detailing how to fix it. But I cant find anything that doesn't involve people having installed mods or their games being run on their own server.
I literally just now helped my brother solve the problem, as I haven't been down to my dad's where he lives since I oringally wrote this post.
It obviously wasn't that big of a deal since he hadn't called me to follow up on whether I had figured out a solution. He had BF1, GTAV and Clash Royale to tide him over, I guess.
Or, you know, playing outside with his friends like I did when I was his age, Lol.

Please, someone tell me they can help!
Thanks in advance.
Sorry for the late reply, but THANKS!
