I had the same problem now...i found an easy way for xbox one. I simply disconnect the power cable and the hdmi cable and plugged them back and turned on the xbox one again. hope this works!
This happened to me and I pressed the xbox button and went to another game. Then I pressed the xbox button again and refreshed the screen by holding dow RT and LT and Y and then let them go at the same time and then went to minecraft and it was good
The strip you're seeing is the multiplayer join game text. If you have another profile signed in on your xbox when you load the game this will appear (and for some reason) gradually get longer. The way to stop this from happening is to make sure that you have no other profiles signed in when you load the game. The only other thing it could be is in game text ( such as a game notification like set time to day. If this is the case the only way to get rid of it is to restart the game.
I am having a lot of problems right now though too. So maybe I just have poor luck.

I've had this problem as well. Just restart your xbox.

I don't think it can be HDMI issues if it's only happening in-game. It's obviously chat text issues, it can't be linked to signal connection.
It happened to me and all I had to do was restart Minecraft like you guys said, and it worked! Thx
