My son has this on his android phone and it will not open. It's been this way for at least a month. I figured they would fix it in an updated version, but still nothing. What's weird is that it still works on my android phone (also updated to same version). On his phone, it acts like it's going to open and then goes to a black screen for awhile, and then goes back to the home screen. Please help! Or if there is some way I can contact Mojang more directly (I tried emailing but just got a standard email back saying that the mailbox wasn't monitored), please tell me how. This is beyond frustrating for both of us!
Are both phones the exact same make and model? Are they both running the same version of the Android OS?
One thing to try is to do a google search for "Minecraft PE phone compatability" and you should find the Minecraft Wiki which lists a large number of phones and what version of PE they are compatible with. If your sons phone is older, it might not be compatible with the current release of PE.
I have the same problem where my phone Alcatel One Touch POP C9 which is compatible from what I have read from the wiki.
When I start the game all I see is a black screen.
And I noticed taht it has gotten worse by the updates, because in the early versions the game would first go ob a black screen but it would later work but now it stays on a black screen.
Hi! My minecraft pe is not working. I open the app, the mojang symbol appears and then just a white screen. I don't want to delete the app and re download it because I have a few worlds on there that I have spent ages on and love. I am also not a tech person so could any suggestions be written so that I could understand how to fix this problem? Thanks!! Oh I also am using an apple iPhone 6s so it shouldn't Ben out of date and it is fully updated.

I know how to fix this! First clear the data and cache. Then open up Minecraft and in files choose external then your world's are saved.
I mean storage. NOT FILES
