Hello, everyone! Desperate mama, here, and a hopeless techno-phobe to boot, so any help would be MUCH appreciated. My nine-year-old son, who is a Minecraft PE fanatic, was in his survival world the other night when he suddenly "died" and had to re-spawn. That worked, but he found himself "underground" with sand falling on him and "died" again. When he re-spawned that time, he was suddenly in the middle of nowhere - kind of in the sky somewhere, or perhaps (he thinks) outside the "limits" of his world. And there he is - stuck - with no obvious way to return to his fabulous buildings, if they even still exist. The light keeps changing signaling day and night, there are big white rectangular shapes at eye-level in the near distance (clouds, perhaps?), and the sun/moon are visible. But no matter which direction he "walks" or for how long, he can't seem to return to his world. This is really breaking my heart. I didn't foresee a glitch like this happening and therefore neglected to back up my son's two main worlds. Thankfully, his creative world is still intact, but he cared more about his survival world. :-( Has anyone else experienced this? Do you think his buildings are still there somewhere? If so, any advice on how he can get "back" to them? A million thanks in advance for any insights or possible solutions!
im not too familiar with the Pocket Edition of Minecraft but you could always try to use some 3rd party program to edit the world and return his character to the "world"
no reason to lose hope, i'll try and do some research and get back to you.

What product are you using ma'am? The issue will be fixed successfully if your son was using an Adnroid, as it is a device that allows you to edit the game.

Hello! I am a growing Youtuber who aims to upload a lot of entertaining videos. Got something that i could feature on my Channel? A Map or something? PM me and i'll look into it!
Thanks a million! I appreciate any small sliver of hope at this point. :-) Tomorrow, I will try to post a photo of the screen where he is stuck, in case that would help at all.
Hmm, its quite difficult to resolve the issue on an Apple product. I will try my best to find a solution.
One more question, could you ask him if he made an 'infinite' world? If he answered no, still notify me

This is something that can be fixed on a non-infinite world.
However, if is an infinite world, I do not know how to fix this.
But if it a restricted world, follow these steps:
#1 Go to the edge of the world, (you should be able to walk in the sky).
#2 Go over the edge back downwards.
#3 Try to land back on land.
Hope this helps!
But if this does not work, it might be that a minecraft update changed this, but best of luck!
Its an infinite world
