I have bought Minecraft Pocket Edition for iOS and it works really quite well on my iPad 2 and reasonably well on my 3GS (both running 5.0.1) but it keeps crashing, it either loads up the Mojang screen then a blank white screen and then crashes back to iOS, or when i quit out of it and come back to it later it freezes and then crashes.
I kinda expected this on my 3GS considering the old hardware but the iPad 2 has the latest hardware, i hope they fix this soon.
I suppose my question is that, is it happening to anyone else as well?
It might be that you're out of memory in your device. Double tap the home button, and the multi-task bar will pop up at the bottom. Press and hold one of the apps in the bar until the apps have a red negative sign in the upper left. Just tap that red logo on all the apps to quit their process.

I have a iphone 4S and an ipad 2. both unjailbroken. it crashes every time i try to create a new world. i've tried rebooting the devices, but nothing works. i was really looking forward to this release :sad.gif:
yeah, im experiencing it. it uses a lot of memory, so it crashes a lot.
Just another reason why mojang cant add mobs to PE minecraft: it would make your I-devices and androids explode because of the memory problem XD.
It especially happens when you make a world.
Try to close all the other running apps when you use the app: double tap the home button, hold the apps on the bottom, and then press the little red "-" button.
That's because your device is filled with jailbroken cydia tweaks
Could be. Since your 5.0.1 might as well JB, get SBSettings and go to mobilesubstrate and turn off things you don't use. Then close backgrounding apps, and select "processes" and then "free memory." Gives you more RAM space to work with. Hope this helps.
Simple explanation for this: unless your iDevice is an iPhone 4S, Springboard always runs in the background, with ALL your apps' HD icons always loaded in memory. The 4S can handle this, but other devices (especially the iPods and the iPads) will run slightly slower when having over 150+ apps, and occasionally crash. A workaround for this is removing all apps from switcher or do a hard reboot by holding Lock+Home button for 10 secs.
Edit: if you're curious, this started happening ever since Apple introduced Retina graphics.
Yeah It Happens to me all the time. If I download an app from app cake sometimes it crashes before I even start playing it. The same thing is happening with my MCPE when I try to enter it it crashes and won't let me in. I don't want to un install it and then install it cause I've got heaps of stuff on there.

Isn't installing payed things from AppCakes illegal? Plus, i think the reason why it keeps crashing is because your phone is a 3G. That is pretty old hardware
See this post? STOP BUMPING THIS THREAD!btw, jailbreaking doesn't mess up Minecraft PE.
Try double tapping your home button. hold on the app and delete everyone of them from your multitasking. then after that rebbot your phone. that should work. and if its jailbroken. delete a bunch of cydia tweaks or themes you dont use and or need.
