I just purchased Kindle fires for my children and also purchased Minecraft PE from the amazon app store. My problem is they can not join each other in game to play with each other. Did I do something wrong? Is there a setting I have not correctly set up? They all say that server is visible. They all detect the server that I create with an ipad, but are never able to join. The other way around, the ipad does not detect the server on the fires. I only throw the ipad in as an example as I'm trying just to get the 3 fires in multiplayer mode. Do the fires even support multiplayer yet? Any help or experience with this would help greatly. Thank you in advance for your time.

to be honest, I think multiplayer is pointless because as soon as a person disconnects, when they rejoin their inventory is reset and they loose everything

The kids like building together not necessarily progressing.
So here is the situation. Minecraft tells me that they do not support the app for Amazon and I should contact them. Amazon says that The app does not have multiplayer functionality. I have been able to connect to other servers started by other android devices. It seems that a server started by a kindle fire does not work as of now. Can not connect to apple devices either. Looks like I have to wait for some code updates :(. If anyone has any other advice, I would be grateful.
SaucyKP ... did you ever figure out how to make it work? I'm having the EXACT same problem. Bought new kindle fires for my kids. If we start a game on my wife's ipad, all the fires can join. But if we start a game on the kindle fires, neither the ipad or the other fires can find that game to join it.
I came across this issue with iPads. I might have the solution that you require: make sure that all of the games are the same and up to date. This means that all players need to have the full, purchased version. Make sure you delete the Minecraft Pocket Edition Lite off of the device to make sure that you aren't accidentally using that one!
I hope this helped you out!

SaucyKP . . . I'm having the same issue. We have 3 Kindle Fires all playing the same MC PE version [they were downloaded from Amazon the same day] and we can't connect to each other via the Kindles -- we have to have someone start the game on an ipad/iphone. This is very inconvenient.
Have any fixes or updates been made?
I'm new to the forum and have gotten lots of tips . . . I'm posting here in the hopes someday a solution will come along. For now, I guess we will have to always elect someone to be the ipad/iphone player [somehow I think it may be me!]. Thanks for any and all advice!
Add me to the list with the same issue, but have a little more to add.
My 2 kids each got a Kindle Fire this Christmas, each running the same full pocket version, updated, etc.. These were the new Kindles, but not the HD ones.
Their 2 cousins each have the older Kindle Fires and also have full version of Minecraft.
When they all get together what we've seen is that only the worlds shared from the older Kindle Fires can be seen and joined. The new Kindles don't seem to be able to visibly share a session that is recognizable. So the new ones can join the old device's sessions, the old ones can join each others, but the two new devices can't seem to share and thus join each others.
It doesn't seem to follow any particular wireless network or router settings, but who knows. Just tried it on a couple and same results... so if there seems to be any sharing/joining at all on the network things should be okay right? Unless there is some setting on the new Kindles that I haven't stumbled across.
The problems I've seen like this here with Kindles so far have all been recent purchases. So I'm wondering, for those who have it working with the Kindle, were these the original ones or the 2nd generation hardware?
Just tested out the way CraftSpace described . . . the 2nd Gen Fires can connect to the 1st Gen Fire but not the other way around. I've looked at all the settings, compared 1st Gen to 2nd Gen and still can't see any differences. I'm afraid I've hit a brick wall . . . not sure where to go from here.
Maybe the wonderful wizards @MineCraft will jump on this and figure out a fix!

Thanks for confirming this scenario! It is frustrating (and the kids are staying on me to fix it) but having some confirmation beyond my own setup here helps progress things I think.
I would encourage you to report this farther, as the Minecraft Forums may not always catch the attention needed. There is a bug tracking system Mojang (the developer) uses that is more appropriate when it looks like a real issue has been discovered. I actually reported it there about the same time I originally posted here. It has been flagged by the developor as "Plausible" at this point. The link to my ticket for this bug is: https://mojang.atlassian.net/browse/MCPE-1134?page=com.atlassian.jira.plugin.system.issuetabpanels:comment-tabpanel
You add a comment to that ticket or perhaps open another ticket of your own... though they try to cull duplicates.
Just wanted to share that and thanks again for posting your confirmation! With more and more of the 2nd generation Kindle Fires out there, surely we'll get a patch sometime. Just not soon enough!
My question is about registering and de-registering a Kindle Fire HD and recovering and losing worlds.
I accidentally deregistered my son's Kindle Fire today. I re-registered to his amazon account and was able to recover apps without paying for them again. This included the Minecraft PE. But the world did not come back.
This is in contrast to a month ago: I bought the Kindle and registered to my Amazon account. We bought PE and played....then I moved the Kindle to his amazon account (de-registered, re-registered on new Amazon account, bought Minecraft PE on his account). The world came back when we bought Minecraft again.
Forums indicate that de-registering a KIndle wipes the device. Today's experience says, "Yes, that is is what happened". But our December experience is different, that we were able to recover the world.
Can anyone make any suggestions?
What if I delete the Minecraft PE app and buy it again? Could that recover the world?

Delete and re-get it? Um...no, I'm afraid no-wait...yes, you can!
For some reason(as I have a Kindle Fire HD too)I accidentally removed my Minecraft:PE from my device but when I went and got it back(without paying an money as I just go to the Cloud. The process is:
Home->Games->Cloud
and I just get back all my worlds)
Also, a friend told me(or in the Simple Answers thread)that the Kindle Fire wasn't officially announced to have Minecraft:PE on it, but managed to.

Don't think there is an answer yet. It does appear to be solidly confirmed now though that it is particular to the 2nd Gen Kindle Fires. The ticket is still open and unresolved with Mojang and can be followed here: https://mojang.atlassian.net/browse/MCPE-1134
Look at the comments there and I encourage you to add your own experience to that ticket for the development team. Hope we'll see some resolution in an upcoming patch, but nothing mentioned yet.

My brother and i do multiplayer, just put everything into a chest to save it when you leave!
Just look at this hot logo! :3

So it must be something I'm doing wrong because I have heard others working too. Have an email into support but they have yet to respond.
I hope this helped you out!
