Though I usually play Minecraft on my computer or Xbox, I thought I would attempt to take a jab at my ancient ps3 and play some of the games that had just been collecting dust next to the console. I began playing Minecraft Pocket edition just shortly after its release in 2012 and ever since then I'd owned at least some form of the game and played it regularly whether it be console, mobile, or PC. All that just means is from third grade until now id grown up with the game and noticed many changes that slowly came with each update. Around 2015 the game was in it's prime with not much clutter, a smooth operation, and a simple interface. Around that time new biomes and world sizes were increasing greatly and the game seemed to get better and better with each small update, well, now the circumstances have changed. Around November 2016 I bought my first ever Xbox and of course shoved the ps3 and its accessories in a box under the stairs and played nothing but PC. That is, until now. I dusted off my console and plugged it in eager to meet my old norm and of course the genial symphony played as the playstation started off, Please take note that the console is in great condition and i'm completely sure that the equipment had nothing to do with my disappointment. I swiped over to the minecraft icon and of course it had to update (which took about 3 hours due to how long it had been) and then the familiar start up showed as normal. I created a new world and was delighted to find that I spawned right over a ravine containing the ender portal part of the stronghold, and of course I didn't suspect anything. I built my house and gathered supplies and food and continued as i normally would, but as I went on I noticed that every single livestock animal I found seemed to be floating in a river or pond. I can only remember finding a sheep on land once, and I can only assume its a problem with entity detection, either from animals not detecting water as a non-solid block or the water identifying as something it's not allowing the animals to just walk right in without identifying any water around. (i'm not programming savvy so please disregard my possible stupidity, I mean jeeze i'm only 14) Another thing I noticed is that there is absolutely no generated structures aside from a witch hut and the stronghold. I searched from corner to corner of the disappointingly tiny (and i mean absolutely miniature) world. From top to bottom i looked and there was nothing at all, not even a well let alone a village or temple. Afterwards I loaded three more survival worlds to see if it was just the seed I had gotten, and once again the entire landscape was mountain or jungle biomes all scrunched onto possibly the smallest minecraft world ive ever seen paired with being barren of any structures and containing many aquatic livestock. Please tell me if your experience is any better so maybe i can try troubleshooting, Its not like ive lost anything but time and patience, but I still can't help be agitated at the terrible quality of this version of the game. Ive had no problems with any other version, please help!
Hugely dissapointed with this years chain of updates !
