I have looked everywhere for help and cannot find anything. I just got Minecraft Pocket Edition on my lg g4 and on every world there is a weird shadow covering everything except for where im standing. Its really annoying and i cant play with it surrounding everything. Please help.
I get this as well, Samsung Galaxy Tab3. It started when I updated minecraft to v0.15.0
Entities are rendered properly, but terrain/blocks are rendered pitch black starting 7 blocks and further away from me. Placing torches does not help (the torch model itself is rendered properly however much like entities).
The only setting that has any sort of effect is the FOV slider. If the FOV is zoomed all the way in, blocks are rendered properly up to 14 blocks away from me, but immediately after that everything is still rendered pitch black (apart from torches, entities).
Also, stuff at the edge of the screen is not quite as pitch black. If I look directly at a given block 8 blocks away from me, it's pitch black. I can see it's outline fine, it's just pure black. If I turn the view to the side so that block is at the very edge of my screen, it renders, but is very dark still, as if it's right at the edge of the fog/spotlight effect.

Simple. Place a torch, and ALL the black will be gone. It happens. If not. Outta luck. But I can give you another tip if it doesn't work
This is a very real bug with the LG G4.
I would advise Op to provide pictures.

It really hinders enjoyment of the game.
Agreed. This is an issue with the LG G4 smartphone. Got a better pic for you to make it understandable:
Weird
It is weird. I wonder if anyone here would know. For me, it's just a minor thing (doesn't affect play at all), just like it to look right.
I found a fix for this bug.
Just turn off the "Animated Water" setting and restart the app.
The game might look ugly, but thats the trade off, I guess...
Might try that for kicks.
Everybody with this problem should also try ensuring that their phone is fully updated.
A recent update completely fixed this issue on T Mobile Lg G4.
AT&T (my provider) just recently updated my phone, and the black issue is gone.
You'll have to wait for an update to fix it, or if you're a brain, do it yourself.
Mine also has this problem I tried.the torch thing it doesn't work anyother ideas
